The Berkeley Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 25-year-old who left home five days ago and hasn’t been seen since.
Monica Elaine Sykes left her residence on Faye Street on October 27. Sykes’ family said she left home without her identification and has not called or texted in days.

It's been a while but I don't really get the foul play vibe here, I rather feel like she might be hiding out somewhere. I hope she'll be located safe and sound soon.

Hope this beautiful young lady comes home soon.

Monica is the daughter of a coworker. Please keep looking for her - please keep her in mind. Her family is distraught, hurting, and scared ... and grateful for your help and your prayers.

The nephew saw her leave the house early in the morning and get in a white car with her boyfriend.
The home alarm showed the front door was opened just after 7 am.
Police have questioned the boyfriend, but at this time they are not calling him a suspect.

Sykes, 25, who lives with her sister and three nephews in the 6300 block of Fay Drive, left to buy candy and never returned, said her mother, Regina Sykes. One of the boys told family he saw his aunt get into a white vehicle.

Police have talked to Sykes' boyfriend, who has a white car, but declined further comment. She had worked at least a year at Ol' Henry Restaurant in Berkeley.

The family is using fliers and social media, and raised more than $5,000 online for a reward.

Regina Sykes is especially concerned that two others, Kelly L. Allen, 20, and Shemika Cosey, 16, have been missing from Berkeley for years. Jackson, the acting police chief, said he believes there is no connection.

I'm friends with Monica's mom and dad. I've invited Regina to join this forum, but as you can imagine, she has a lot going on. I made sure she knows she's welcome here no matter what. I met Regina and Leonard Sykes for coffee today. We were joined by another friend of mine, Jackie Simon, who many of you probably remember as Ebony Jackson's aunt.

Too many girls - especially brown girls - are going missing in the St. Louis area, and too few people care. Let's keep bumping this thread so we can show Monica how important she is when she comes home!

There's a search being conducted for Monica today at 1:00 CST at 8600 Airport Road in Berkeley, MO. I am going to try to make it if I can.

If she was last seen with her boyfriend, has he said where they went, what they did, where he saw her last??

They've kind of amended the "last seen with her boyfriend" statement, and are now saying she was last seen getting into a white car. She left her house that morning around 7-ish, saying she was going to buy some candy for her nephews (she lives with her sister and her sister's sons). The 6 year old nephew says he saw her getting into a "white car", but never stated it was the boyfriend's car one way or another. The boyfriend, however, does have a white car. I have some more information, but it hasn't been publicly released, so just PM me if anyone is interested in chatting off the record.
