Don't know if it helps, but denim pants in Italy are called "jeans"
(maybe that's the word on the label?)
I'm italian, so please forgive my poor English. And let me know if I am wrong. Thanks

Doe network says she was going to California, Namus says Cincinnati. The hair and height match, age is 15 and the UD est is 16-24. I may email it in, what do you think?

I don't know how far off these estimations with age / weight can be...

    Sylvia Helen Carlson
    - went missing from Santa Monica. Off the age range at 32 and 130lb - 20 more pounds than the estimate. Worth a shot though, long blonde hair, dates and area match.

Link says SC was 39, not 32, but I don't know how accurate these age estimates are, either.

    Lightbulb

Wondering if this was one of the victims of serial killer William Richard Bradford. He was operating in that time period, and liked the Palmdale area.
This is the year to locate Mark Dribin http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...ht=Mark+Dribin NamUs MP#876 and Ilene Misheloff http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...lene+Misheloff NamUs MP#6410 and bring them home to their families!

I was thinking same thing. Also, is it just me or was California in the late 70's-80's a hot bed for serial killers?

I don't think she was 5'5. I'm 5'9 and an inseam of 32 inches is too long for me. I think that she was definitely closer to the taller end of that estimate unless she had unnaturally long legs.

Good point, but I'm not sure it's as significant for 1978 as it is now.

She seems to have been wearing tall platform heels. In the 70's we wore our pants longer to begin with, and wore them longer with heels--sometimes almost to the ground, so that might be it. (Jeans the length we wear them today would have been called high-water pants or flood pants ) If they're all cotton, as jeans that age tend to be, she might have bought a larger size so they'd shrink to fit. And some pants are just mislabeled or sized funny, too, like they think we're all six-foot-tall models with legs that go on forever. She might have rolled the cuffs, or hemmed them up. So it might not be as odd as it seems.

In any case, Ridall looks like a good match to me. I'm reading it that she went to Cincinnati (Ohio), and told the person there she was going to California, but I could be wrong about that.
Opinions expressed are strictly my own (who else would they belong to???)

In the 70's our jeans drug the ground with heels on lol.
