Fears growing for missing RAF serviceman who vanished after night out

Concerns were growing today for the safety of a young military policeman who vanished after a night out and may have tried to walk eight miles back to his base.

[...]

Camera operators saw him getting up and walking off - but he failed to return to Honington, the headquarters of the RAF Force Protection who guard UK military installations around the world.

Despite an appeal to motorists, villagers along the serviceman’s route and a search by the Suffolk police helicopter there has been no trace of him.

Corrie is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, medium build, with short light brown hair. He was wearing a light-pink polo shirt and white jeans when last seen.

From today's Daily Wail:

Prince Harry is criticised after snubbing a request to help raise awareness for missing airman Corrie McKeague who vanished after a night out nine weeks ago

Prince Harry has been criticised for snubbing a request to help raise awareness of missing RAF serviceman Corrie McKeague.

Prince Harry, who left the Army last year, was asked by one of the campaigners trying to find Corrie to lend his support to the search.

But in a letter from Royal aides it was revealed that the Prince, a former captain who flew helicopter combat missions in Afghanistan, was 'unable to help' with the request.

This is the final CCTV image we were offered. It seemed everyone questioned as to why it has been shown and where it was. My next image shows where it is. It's at the foot of Greenwoods CCTV camera.

Here's the 'eyelet'. Note the position of Greenwoods CCTV camera. And the view down towards the 'Horseshoe' on the left where Corrie ran towards.

This is an image of the 'Horseshoe' area where Corrie was last seen. Corrie came from the right of the image. Another image later will clarify the movements...

EThis is an image looking from the 'Horseshoe' towards the 'eyelet'. Note the anti-vehicular obstacles in the pedestrian walkway making access by anything bigger than a motorcycle impossible.
Corrie 'jogged' from the middle centre right of the screen towards the bottom right of the screen, stopped and then wandered to the bottom left of the image into the 'Horseshoe'.
More images of Clarity later...

These images clarify the movements of some individuals who were in the area around the time Corriedale went missing.

This is a pedestrian view towards the 'Horseshoe' from outside the Cornhill and McDonalds outlets. Note the position of the cctv cameras as supplied by the police footage.

Two things are of interest in addition to the other offerings:
Firstly, We are all led to believe that Corrie left the 'Horseshoe' area in a vehicle as he would have been captured on CCTV camera. I'm still not 100% convinced with that sentiment to be honest but as the guys in the field are the trade specialists, I'll leave it to them to work out.
If he left on foot and walked up SB...look what I discovered! This is NOT near the 'Horseshoe', so would not (presumably) be subject to the amount of forensic searching that came about within the first few precious hours. I'm guessing it's 100 yards from where he disappeared from.
This needs looking into by a local or the police to cancel it from the enquiries!

Stellar work. Are you possibly saying that there ought to be other footage from the Cornhill cameras that would shed more light on the situation?

I had a look and from this angle you can even see inside a bit...

Secondly, put yourself in the picture and Corrie's mindset. He's had a busy week. He's been looking forward to a night out for awhile. He's made arrangements with the lads but has missed his lift. He doesn't want to pay for a taxi in to BSE and reluctantly takes his precious car into BSE where it'll be left overnight. He's worried about it. His concentration is constantly being diverted with his calls to his brother. He's drinking in his car to play catch up. Incidentally, a sign clearly states that this area is an alcohol free zone which presumably is why he sought the comfort of the interior of his car? Also, the speculation of the party might come into play here. Why have alcohol in the car and then go to a pub or night club? Could his intentions later on that evening definitely be a party afterwards? I'm thinking a strong possibility.

He's ejected from the club. His mind is elsewhere. The effects of alcohol are starting to grip him. He's making calls to secure his lift home? He makes contact and arranges a collection AT 0300!!!!!! in the 'Horseshoe' and sits and waits in Hughes Electrical for his lift.
It's now 0308 and an exchange of dialogue occurs on his phone (image?). His lift hasn't arrived yet and it's gone 0315.

IT'S ONLY NOW THAT CORRIE REALISES THAT HE ISNT SITTING IN THE 'HORSESHOE' area but is sitting in Hughes doorway!!
Take a look at the road layout on my image and the similarities of the structured area. See the confusion?

This leads me to a different take on our 0330 collection time. Firstly, who finishes work BEFORE 0300? It would mean that they would finish at 0230 or before to be able to collect him. This proposition presumes the collecting driver is 20-30 minutes away which also means BM/MIL is looking favourable again.

...and secondly, it would explain Corrie's little jog into the 'Horseshoe' area. It doesn't explain the phone or the missing part though but then again we're still trying to figure that out anyway.

Welcome back everyone! we have spent some amount of time on the naughty step with our posts.
I have read the rules and we are not allowed to ref FB at all now, although this is where the majority of posts and info comes from the family so I'm at a loss. Can we only comment about items posted on the findcorrie.co.uk website?

Yes, that is correct.

The family's updates as well as FAQ are included on the family's findcorrie.co.uk website.

Thanks :)

Stellar work. Are you possibly saying that there ought to be other footage from the Cornhill cameras that would shed more light on the situation?
I'm suggesting that whilst the police no doubt have authority and the legal framework to aquire images that appertaining to a missing persons enquiry, they seem to be either exceptionally inept at showing us the images that would help in this enquiry OR they know a massive amount. A he'll of a lot more than they're letting on or we can ever imagine.
Sadly at the moment I think the former.

Midsummer, your images are fantastic! Thank you so much for providing them - it really puts all the cctv footage and positions in clear perspective. And the storage cubby in the area is a great find!
