LAWRENCE, Mass. One person is under arrest in connection with the death of a Lawrence teen whose decapitated body was found on the banks of the Merrimack River.
The Essex District Attorney's Office said a search warrant was executed in connection to the murder of Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino by police at 12:45 a.m. at a residence on Oxford Street and arrested 16-year-old Mathew Borges. Borges is expected to be arraigned Monday and will be charged as an adult

im sure we have all seen some cases that seem to get very little exposure, im local to this and i never heard about it while he was missing, im sure there are 100 other cases going on right now that havent ben posted here and i havent heard about.

the grandmother is very distraught in the video below and is concerned about the lack of attention police gave to the case while it was going on;

I don't care if he's 16, 9, or 74, he is a heartless, cruel, mean excuse for a human being. If he could do something like this at 16, if he hadn't been caught, what would he be capable of at 26? Trying to burn the entire state and everybody living there, too?
Supposedly, even teens tried as an adult most likely are not eligible for the death penalty because of their age, but I think he needs to be an exception to the rule.

Was the surveillance from MB's neighbor's house and is this suggesting MB possibly had help disposing of the body from 4 men he was later seen with? Who are these 4 men?

Yes, it appears these other four were involved, or are guilty by association, at the least. I hope they will be brought in for questioning. It is too convenient that six people leave the house, and only five return, and Lee comes up missing. I think it would be very difficult for one person to pull all this off by himself.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family. What a horrible loss they are suffering.

It's of little comfort, I suppose, but at least the perp was caught and will face justice.

i havent seen any evidence in MSM yet to say the other 4 were involved, just that they were with the other suspect on the day the victim was last seen. (it seems likely tho yeah)

it is interesting to note that Lee was seen on video leaving his own house with the suspect, and then the suspect and 4 others returned to Lee's house without him...

did everyone immediately think the suspect lured Lee out and then the 5 of them killed him or were all in some way involved? i did, but then it didnt make any sense that they would go back to Lee's house afterwards, unless it is just mistaken reporting. something will probably explain it...

Police spoke with Borges in November, according to a police report. He told investigators that he had walked with Viloria-Paulino to the river to smoke marijuana.

Borges told a witness later that "he did something bad," according to the police report.

"When Mathew said this, he was motioning with his hands as if he was stabbing someone and cutting someone's head off," the report said.

i can come up with a scenario where the suspect did this alone and then tried to use the other 4 as cover - he commits the murder, cleans up, then goes and finds the other 4 hanging out somewhere and says "hey lets go get Lee and all do something", hmmm he isnt home..."

i dont think we know what time the group of 5 returned to Lee's house, the new article does say that Lee and the suspect left his house at 5:30, and the suspect told police during the investigation he left the riverbank to go home at 7pm (for whatever that is worth)

still seems more likely that there is more than one person involved tho imo

yeah, i wasnt sure if that topic was fair to bring up since it is only speculation, but something like that would make sense (as much as anything could make sense).

there is also some discussion but nothing conclusive yet stating that he was significantly mentally ill.

I still think Borges could have done it alone -- disabled him with a few stab wounds and he would be in control. But why? And will we ever find out? It's early, I know, but this is yet another one of those "Why?" killings. Husband/wife -- much easier to figure after some poking around by investigators and conversations with friends of the couple. Maybe investigators can find someone who knows, but we've seen some with that same question going unanswered. SMH.

This kid is in a lot of trouble. Fifteen years old. Family? Bullying? Sexual confusion or fear? For a lark? Dare? Gang membership? SMH.

Some of the ideas people are putting forth here in re to luring Lee out of house, threatening to "out" someone ... it's beginning to remind me of the murder of 15 year-old Skylar Neese in WVA. Her best friends Rachel and Shelia lured Skylar out one night, apparently to smoke mj, and drove her out of state where they stabbed her to death and partially buried her body. The motive may have been that Skylar threatened to expose Rachel and Shelia's relationship with each other. They didn't dismember Skylar, but just horrible to think of teens doing such things to another, even girls committing cold-blooded murder. SMH
