ROUGH SEX, TOP COP: Sensational claims made by escort calling herself "Leanne" that will rock the #GilgoBeach serial killer case. The unknown murderer is called #LISK. "Leanne" ties Suffolk County's former CHIEF OF POLICE, #JamesBurke, to sex and drug parties in #OakBeach. That's the last place where escort, Shannan Gilbert, was seen running from a house, screaming on a 911 call "They're trying to kill me." Leanne claims Burke threw several hundred dollars at her, after an unsuccessful sexual encounter in the summer of 2011: "He used the term I was not a 'good *advertiser censored*,'" Leanne recalled. "I know a 'god complex' when I see it, and I know a person who thinks he's above certain things." James Ford will have a "live" report at 5 pm on PIX 11.

Shannan Gilbert Family Attorney Links Former Suffolk Police Commissioner James Burke to Gilgo Beach Killings

By Greg Cergol

[...]

[Gilbert family attorney] Ray said that Leanne's allegations move Burke, who is currently serving a 4-year sentence for attacking a man arrested on suspicion of breaking into his department-issued SUV, "into the circle of suspects" in the Gilgo slayings.
"I say it brings a direct connection between Burke and those poor dead victims lying along Ocean Parkway," he said

[...]

Burke's attorney, John Meringolo, said in a statement that Ray's "allegations against my client do not warrant a comment."

Ray, who has represented Gilbert's family for several years, said he would like to question Burke about the case.
He also accused Burke of trying to keep other law enforcement agencies from investigating the case.

Unidentified Murder Victim Dubbed ‘Peaches’ Linked to Gilgo Beach Killings

Nassau County and New York State investigators reported that DNA evidence confirmed partial skeletal remains found in the brush near Zach’s Bay at Jones Beach State Park in 2011 belong to an unidentified woman whose torso was found in Hempstead Lake State Park in 1997. Investigators have said the Jones Beach remains, which authorities had dubbed Jane Doe No. 3, was determined via DNA evidence to be the mother of Baby Doe, a toddler whose skeletal remains were found east of Cedar Beach on April 4, 2011.

“They call her ‘Peaches,’ Eric Smith, a forensic medical investigator in the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office..

Escort Claims Ex-SCPD Chief Burke Paid Her For Sex At Oak Beach Drug Party
By
Long Island Press -
December 15, 2016

By Christopher Twarowski and Timothy Bolger

An escort claimed Thursday that disgraced ex-Suffolk County Police Chief James Burke paid her for sex during a cocaine-fueled house party in Oak Beach five years ago.

The woman held a news conference to discuss the allegations along with Miller Place-based attorney John Ray, who represents the family of Shannan Gilbert...

[...]

Ray stated the new information from his client implicates Burke in not only Gilbert’s demise, but all those victims.

“It is the first time that a direct connection between Burke, prostitution and Oak Beach has been made,” said Ray, who represents Gilbert’s family in a lawsuit against Dr. Peter Hackett, a former Oak Beach resident and ex-police surgeon that the family accused of causing Gilbert’s death. “This is a significant connection.”

[...]

The 30-year-old sex worker, who identified herself only as Leanna, said that she first met Burke during an Oak Beach house party on about June 2011, when she said she saw cocaine being passed around and “observed [Burke] pull a woman by her hair to the ground,” she said in a sworn statement. Two months later, she met Burke at another party at the same house.

“We attempted to have sex together in the bathroom there, but Jimmy Burke was unable to consummate the sex act,” she said in the statement. “This made him extremely angry. He insisted upon oral sex, which was given. He then called me a *advertiser censored*.”

Why Hasn't the Long Island Serial Killer Case Been Solved?

Six years since first bodies were found near remote beaches, there's still no trace of a killer

By Ellen Killoran -- Rolling Stone
8 hours ago -- December 15, 2016

[...]

Some have suggested early stages of the police investigation were compromised by leadership later charged with mishandling other cases – or by the fact that the leadership suddenly changed shortly after the discovery of Gilbert’s body. Moreover, many of these questions have focused on death of Gilbert – but she might not have even been a victim of the Long Island Serial Killer at all. And if her death was really just a tragic coincidence, how much has her case been a distraction from finding the real killer?

A law enforcement source with knowledge of the Long Island serial killer investigation told FoxNews.com last month that Burke was being eyed as a person of interest in the murders, though the FBI declined to comment on the case. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said federal investigators were questioning Burke's former girlfriends after learning he had a "violent past."

Not sure this article has any new info but saw this on Fox News. Apparently a news conference by an attorney John Ray, representing Shannan Gilbert's family and a prostitute that alleged sex parties with former Suffolk County Chief Burke. There aren't any links in the article for additional info.

How Websleuths & Filmmakers Sparked A Revelation In Gilgo Murders Case

By Timothy Bolger -
December 30, 2016

When the biggest story in years broke this month in the unsolved Long Island Serial Killer case, few noticed that an online community of crime buffs and two filmmakers sparked the revelation.

The news went national when local investigators reported to a federal database that a DNA match meant partial skeletal remains found on Ocean Parkway in 2011 belonged to an unidentified woman whose torso was discovered in Rockville Centre in 1997, which in turn confirmed the victim—dubbed “Peaches” because of her fruit tattoo—was the mother of the lone child recovered amid the carnage uncovered in the Gilgo Beach murders probe. It was widely reported to be the most significant update in the investigation since the last bodies were found. Although most reports omitted it, the story behind how this forensic clue was unearthed raises as many questions about the case as the news itself.

[...]

“There just has to be at least an accurate accounting of these victims,” a man who uses the online pseudonym “Fieldnotes” on Websleuths, a popular online forum for true crime aficionados, was quoted as saying in episode three of The Killing Season, a docu-series about LISK and related cases that recently aired on A&E.

[...]

“It had always been our…belief that identifying the unidentified along Ocean Parkway would lead to a break in the case and we really believed that the Websleuths community could help do this,” Zeman said.

Webslueths’ owner, Tricia Griffith, and longtime website moderator Deb Smith, who goes by the handle Bessie, confirmed that Fieldnotes was the first to bring attention to Jane Doe No. 3’s omission from NamUs. They pointed to it as an example of how the site can help advance investigations.

Have they researched all of the victim's computers to find where the Craig's list reply messages were coming from?

ARTICLE DATED: 09/08/2017

The Sunday post article doesn't state much new, except that a body was discovered on Jones Beach, Wednesday, 09/06/2017, and has residents fearful that the LISK may be active again, due to the condition the unidentified woman's body was discovered in, which was without head/hands/feet.
