Leah has been very vocal over the years about her reasons for separating herself from the organization. She has given many interviews on the subject both in print and on television.

Please post and discuss her interviews here

ETA Leah is very active on Twitter - live tweeting during the episodes and responding to tweets with questions. You can follow her here: https://twitter.com/LeahRemini

Well looks like they accepted this guy back in the church, from the sounds of it. I don't understand how once you leave the church and denounce them along with criticizing the church your declared an enemy right? Or suppressive person if I'm using the right terms, then I wouldn't think they would accept him back!
I’ve never met Marty Rathbun, but I know people who know him. My impression of following Marty Rathbun (for many years) is that he doesn’t like drama. As an ex-Scientologist, his focus is the truth, without drama. He will be truthful, even if that means being un-supportive of questionable tactics by another anti-Scientologist (Rinder, Remini, etc).

I believe there is no way Marty Rathbun is back in the clutches of Co$. He wouldn’t go back, and they wouldn’t take him back.

Think about it… if he was accepted back with Co$, they would insist that he publicly support Co$. I haven’t seen that happening.

Read some of his blog. Rathbun is a fair person, so any seeming ‘defense’ of Co$ is merely a desire to present the facts and to not sensationalize.

Not all anti-Scientologists are in the same camp. This video of Rathbun explains the predicament of differing views by anti-Scientologists:

I'm glad she has spoken out about this organization.......Louis Theroux's documentary is very illuminating (he did a deep dive on Scientology.)

Welcome to Websleuths,

Just keep reading, and compare this outfit to other churches & other cults.

Most cults operate on a shoestring budget and cannot attract wealthy people, own massive properties in several states (and countries,) and have highly trained security forces. Public figures who are members have disappeared.

Churches, take your pick of differences. My denomination (PCUSA) has a lifetime contract, marriage, and recognizes a civil dissolution of that contract. Ordination as a pastor or elder or deacon is a lifetime contract, which can be dissolved by the parties.

No billion-year contracts for Presbyterians....

Good post!
My denomination is United Methodist. The local UMC church where I am a member, is a "Reconciling Church" which means open and receiving to LGBGT which would include their memberships, marriages, becoming and serving as clergy, etc. etc., and I am proud to say it.
I will add that we are asked to pledge contributions each year to the church, but if we don't pledge or if we can't fulfill our pledges, nothing horrible happens.
We recognize the same marriage contract/dissolution and ordination as PCUSA. Ordination requires a special post college-grad degree similar to a Masters.
And yeah, no billion-year contracts for U.Methodists, either.
SMH.

I will post that I am a true agnostic. I admire people with deep faith in ancient religion because that could have been me being brought up in a devout Catholic household. My own view is different but I absolutely abhor the fact that a nonsense of a second-rate science fiction author developed (especially in these enlightened times) his outrageous rubbish into a multimillion industry whereby people who have little, or people who have too much look beyond humanity itself and have fallen into this ridiculous cult. Remember folks, he was a storyteller. The clue is in the job description.
Go Leah and Mike. Keep treading that mill - you and your friends who have had first hand experience of this sadistic, moronic journey are the only ones who can truly spread the word of this nasty cult. Keep grinding them down.
