The super last saw her Wednesday. That is also the day, Dec 21, of the last day of the term at the college where she works. She worked at John Jay College, which specializes in criminal justice.

It's possible that she's been deceased for days (which seems to be the case because of the noticeable odor), and no one noticed her missing from work because the campus is closed for the winter break.

I wonder about her son's daycare - if they have been missing him?

When initially contacted by investigators, Duran put up the front of a grieving father and said he hadn’t visited the apartment since 2011, sources said.

But police later found out that he lied to them after he was spotted on building surveillance footage several days ago entering the six-story building and leaving hours later wearing different clothes, sources said.

Duran, a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, resident, was captured on surveillance going in and out of the building over the course of several days.
