    TX - Deniece Brantley, 37, Tomball, 28 December 2016

Officials search for 37-year-old woman last seen in Tomball

On any other Wednesday, Josephine Brantley would be at work. But today, she is making a desperate public plea to find her missing daughter, Deniece, who was visiting from San Antonio.

“We love her and she loves us. (She) and her sister are very close. This is not like her to disappear, especially to leave her pet. Her pet is like her baby,” Brantley said.

Josephine Brantley believes Deniece came to the Houston area last Thursday.

She assumed she was here to celebrate the family’s Christmas on New Year’s Eve.

Deniece Brantley was caught on her mom’s home security camera ringing the doorbell at 8:15 a.m. that day.

No one in her family has seen her since.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Was her visit to Houston a surprise? It sounds like her mom was unsure of when she arrived and was assuming she knew the reason for the visit. Doesn't sound like there were concrete plans.

Info regarding the pet from the link

Deniece dropped her dog, Bailey, off to get shampooed at a pet resort in Tomball.

“The next day they called her sister to see if the dog was being abandoned or relinquished and at that point, that's when we found out she had disappeared. She's not responding to any calls, going straight to voice mail,” Brantley said.

That does not sound like a voluntary disappearance. Does not sound good. I'm worried for her.

Ok, so I am confused on the time line and dates.

She rang the doorbell at 8:15 (on Sat the 31st?) - did she go inside the house?

The dog was dropped off at 9:45 (on Sat the 31st?) - how did they know to call the sister?

How far away was the camera she was seen on and the dog groomers?

It says caught on camera ringing the doorbell. So thinking no one was home or no one came to the door at Mom's. Mom was probably at work. Surprised visit?

Maybe the groomer wanted a local # for the dog or an additional #? Maybe she had chosen to leave and wanted her dog cared for?

ETA Not sure of days...says in the area on Thursday?

Possible scenario to me: She met up with someone (she knew?) for coffee while having her dog at the pet resort. Something happened sometime after.

Hm the only thing that seems odd is why would the sister's info be given to the groomer?

Is it possible she figured the pet would be cared for properly if she voluntarily left her life? I wonder what friends or co-workers in SA have to say about her recent plans or behavior. She is adult with a life in another city. It is possible mom doesn't know everything.

That was the oddest part. Why would she give that info. unless there was at least a chance she wouldn't be back to get the dog. Maybe she was meeting someone and was afraid she would be late? Or, like you said, it's possible she just walked away. This way the dog that she loved wouldn't be left in her apt. but with her sister.
