Oh my...

The truck looks wrecked. A snow and ice storm came through the area on that night, and the news hasn't panned out enough that I've seen, nor given enough detail for me to determine how far from a road this might be, or whether it could be an accident.

Talk on the news suggested that the women and kids were reported missing BY THE EX; there's not enough information yet to say whether it's more likely that someone took them against their will and staged an accident or whether it's true that the women actually left in the ex's truck. (That sounds so fishy to me.)

Anyway. It looks like a horrific tragedy no matter what ends up happening. If it ends up being foul play, it'll be another god-awful event in recent New Mexico history. It's a dangerous place to be a woman or a child, I will say that much. I love it here, but there is a nasty underbelly of domestic violence and child abuse that is beyond disgusting.

edited to say: On second thought, I'm not sure the truck looks wrecked enough to cause a fatal accident. But it's really hard to tell from the terrain. I guess it's just waiting to hear at this point.[/FONT]

I'm dismayed there seems to be so little attention here at WS to this tragedy. Two women have been found dead as of now, and the children remain missing and endangered.

if these bodies are in fact the ones of the people we think they are, where is the other sister?

is the estranged boyfriend missing too?

So the latest information is now that not two adult bodies, but one adult woman's and two children's bodies have been found. No one has said yet which sister and child remains missing.

I really can't speculate meaningfully as to which sister and child remain missing.Vanessa has two children who are missing, and Leticia has one.

The ex, as far as I know, isn't missing. They really haven't said a whole lot except that he's a danger and that he claims to have last seen them on the 5th on the Santa Ana Pueblo. The police came out on that day to do a welfare check. It's not clear who requested the welfare check.

It seems like (speculation) Vanessa may have been staying with her sister--if the ex is involved, it's not uncommon for them to take their anger out on people whom they see as hindering their access to their original victim(s).

This is so distressing.

Awww no...really didn't want to hear about any children's bodies found....:rose: :rose: :rose:

Very sad. I wonder if they did die in the apparent wreck.

"The FBI confirmed that the body of an adult female found on the Santa Ana Pueblo onSunday has been identified by relatives as Leticia George. . . . it appears that the other bodies recovered on the Pueblo are those of her sister and their children. . . . Autopsies are pending to determine the cause of each death, but foul play by another party is not suspected at this time."

Interesting ohrase; presume that means murder-suicide isn't ruled out. How cold was it in that area? Could they have succumbed to hypothermia after the accident?

Good point. I did think about hypothermia, because a terrible storm came through late Thursday night, with snow, high winds, and ice.

The murder-suicide angle is a possibility, too. It seems like it would be unlikely among sisters, but we know anything can happen, sadly. Ugh. Just terrible.

😞
Reports reveal they all died of hypothermia. The cause of death for the children was ruled a homicide, because they were unable to leave a dangerous situation due to their young ages.

Reports also show Leticia was six to eight weeks pregnant. Chloe was found with two adult bite marks on her upper left arm and right shoulder.

Preliminary investigations show the reason they were in the area was to perform a cleansing ritual.

The week the women and children went missing, a huge storm hit New Mexico, and temperatures were below freezing.
