I was looking at the crime scene photo of the bags, wondering if there were more clothes in the bags?
The pictures of the clothes don't look like they've been out in the elements for too long, except for one item.

Good call on Chester Labar.
Do we know yet how long the remains have been there yet?

NamUs doesn't say.

I also just noticed in NamUs it says "Torso not recovered" and One or more limbs and hands not recovered.

So did they only find a head?

That's kind of why I asked if there could be more clothes in the bags that wasn't shown, cuz there seems to be more bags than what's pictured: I noticed that some parts weren't recovered. I didn't want to come right out and ask if body parts were also found in the bags, but . . .
It's possible animals scavenged the remains, or that the body was dismembered and not all were found at this location.

in the first link in the first post by Rchrd, someone was quoted referring to "body parts" so im assuming the person was dismembered.

I know the head was there at least, it mentioned on namus that head hair was "present". wonder if any relation to the body parts at the recycle facilities in NYC?

I think the NYC remains are female, while these are male.

[h=1]HUMAN REMAINS: Limited evidence vexes identification[/h]
After more than a week, few details are available to help law enforcement determine whether the remains, believed to be an adult white male, are the result of an accidental or natural death — or a homicide. To help secure answers, officials have posted information on the case in a nationwide database of missing persons.
Approximately one dozen Southern Tier missing persons cases remain unsolved and all are listed on the national database.

The U.S. Department of Justice also tracks missing-person reports over the years across the nation in a database, which lists 542 missing persons around New York state whose disappearances date back more than 70 years.
The year 2016 ended with multiple active missing-person reports in the region. They include:

  • Chester Labar, 37, of Johnson City. He was reported missing Oct. 2.
  • Barrett Elliot, 55, of Binghamton. He was reported missing July 2.
  • Jaime Nieves, 36, of Binghamton. He was reported missing in early December.

CHOCONUT Twp., Pa. (WBNG) -- Pennsylvania State Police said it appears to be the remains of an adult, white male that were found January 12.

The remains were found in a wooded area in Choconut Township.

Troopers said Monday that investigators have not yet identified the man, as they are still waiting on results of DNA and dental testing.

They said these tests take time, and they are not sure when the results will be in.

To me it's a young man. Someone under 35 based on clothes. I'm gonna say younger than 27. But what do I know?!

the remains were found on a property along Route 267 near Brackney

Camp Susquehannock is near Brackney and off season might be a good place to hide out (thinking back 50 years to when I went there).
