OK - Triple homicide: 3 fatally shot in Tulsa home, 16 Jan 2017

Police have identified two of the victims shot and killed in a north Tulsa triple homicide Monday morning.

Police say 28-year-old Thomas Brown and 52-year-old Cara Brown were two of the victims shot and killed Monday morning.

Police received a 911 call just before 2 in the morning Monday from a neighbor who heard yelling coming from the home and shots being fired.

Police believe the son was the target and the other two were killed because they were witnesses...

They believe his mother, Cara Brown, likely heard the commotion and got up. She was found in the doorway of her bedroom and her boyfriend was found dead right next to the bed - both of them shot to death as well...

Detectives believe Brown knew the suspects because it doesn't look like they forced their way inside.

Tulsa Police Department homicide detectives on Tuesday morning identified the third victim of a triple homicide Monday in north Tulsa.

Kenneth Sellers, 58, of Midwest City was an acquaintance of the other two victims, Tulsa Police Officer Jeanne MacKenzie said.

The shooter likely targeted Thomas Brown, and the deaths of Cara Brown and Sellers were ancillary, Walker said. The assailant apparently ransacked the residence looking for an item, possibly a cache of money or narcotics, Walker said.

May 8m 2019. The Tulsa Police Department’s Warrants Unit made a second arrest in a 2017 triple homicide Wednesday.

Christopher President, 29, was arrested and will be the second person to face charges in the January 2017 killings of Kenneth Sellers, Thomas Brown and Cara Brown, according to a news release.

Melvin Porter, 27, was arrested and charged in the case in February 2017. His next court hearing in the case is set for June 24.
