Inous Revels is described ad 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 85 pounds.

Revels was last seen Friday near 51st and Woodland in the afternoon. She was wearing a red and black Chiefs coat and blue jeans.

Revels has health issues, she suffered a stroke two years ago. She hasn’t driven in more than 20 years and has no cell phone.

Anyone have details on this? Amazing how sparse the details are.

It'd be good to know something about exactly when she went missing and info surrounding that day etc.

After suffering a stroke a year ago, Inous Revels generally stayed home.

Mostly, the 63-year-old grandmother stayed in bed and slept because of the impairment she sustained.

That’s why relatives are mystified why Revels walked out of her home near 51st Street and Woodland Avenue on Friday without telling anyone, including her seven children and her longtime live-in boyfriend.

On Thursday, Kansas City police again asked the public’s help to find Revels. Relatives concerned about her safety filed a missing person’s report. Since then, relatives and others have searched throughout the city for Revels.

“She is a very sweet, harmless woman. It is not like her to be gone like this,” her daughter, LaTonya Bates, said Thursday. “She has never done anything like this before.”

Revels’ boyfriend, Gordon Wilson, told relatives that they were sitting on their couch Friday evening. Revels had watched television news and was aware of the forecast that called for freezing rain.
Wilson said he fell asleep while they sat on the couch. When he awoke, Revels was gone, he said.

The couple did not own a car and Revels did not drive. If she went anywhere, Revels usually accompanied her sister or a friend who lives down the street. She caught the bus to the grocery store or to the casino, Bates said.

Casino seems like a reasonable possibility.

It says impairment, but not sure exactly what that is and how it might potentially affect her decision making.

I'd ask if she has a computer or smartphone that might lead to some kind of communication with people her family doesn't know.

If bus was the likely form of transportation, then asking for help from bus driver(s) and people that use the bus line as to if they have seen her. She's very small and bright red jacket, seems like that would make her more noticeable.

It sounds like she took her coat. What about her purse? If she left without her purse, then thats an indication she might have been disoriented or didn't intend to be out that long.

Does she have medication? Did that go with her? How long can she be ok without that medicine, if not?

So a 63 year old disabled woman who has been essentially housebound for a year suddenly decides to go walking on a night when the temps are near freezing and there's freezing rain in the area.

Sure, ok.....

haha, I see the logic behind your sarcasm for sure!

But... at the same time, that is why I was interested in the specifics of her impairment that was mentioned. I have seen some older people do some batshit crazy things, and it's usually related to some form of dementia. I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe that dementia is one thing that can be caused by a stroke. If she has dementia, then her not putting on that chiefs jacket isn't a given either! :) All bets are off at that point.

Also, I'd want to get a look at the boyfriend. If he's around her age, and is he physically capable of doing something to her and moving her etc?

She has 7 kids. Are they all in the house? If he did do something would they have heard something?

I'd like to know a bit more about this case, but to a degree I am thinking that the police have likely ruled out the husband and anyone in the house.

Also, it says she's mostly housebound, but does note she goes to the casino and grocery store. So, she does leave the house and with dementia she could think she's going on a trip with her sister... and that might all be in her head. I've seen this kind of thing before. One of the kids could leave without their hat and she might try to go find them and have no concept of where she really is even after a short walk.

But if the main thing she does is ride the bus, that aspect could be strong in her memory.

I'm no expert on all this, but I have been around people with dementia and some things are strong in their memory and other things are not. I had a relative who thought I was her son and she'd often talk to me about classes she thought I was taking at school. It got to the point where I'd just go along with it, as correcting her was just asking for an argument. :)

MaxManning, that's true, dementia could be playing a role here. It's been way too cold for her to be outside since the 13th, though. And rainy. It wasn't bad today temp wise but at night it's still getting cold.

Revels went to the emergency room two Sundays ago after she fell in the kitchen and experienced chest pains. However, doctors said there was nothing wrong with her.
