Bumping this case I've never heard of. Hot Springs is my hometown and I have a ton of friends/older family there I am going to ask about this case.

Linda Edwards was murdered in 1972, she was much older, 29.

Sounds very likely Lt. Abernathy was her murderer, I wonder if he has any connection. Hot Springs is a very small town (I know big murders happen in small towns all the time) It's one of those places where you almost always know everyone.

Have searched around for info on Margie have not found anything as of yet. I did find an obit in another state that references a daughter of the exact same name, she may have married and moved to AR or may have it all wrong and she was from there all along .. who knows. It's very sad that there is so little info on her disappearance.

Motorrunner and Sloane it would be great if yall would ask around to whom yall know to see if yall could get any leads or info on her.

Posted Margie's picture and info on a 'Remember in Hot Springs' facebook page I belong to. It's gotten a few comments about the 1976 murder of Linda Edwards in Hot Springs. So far 30 people have shared it, so who knows... maybe a family member or someone who knows a family member will see.

Fantastic Ty so much MR for posting a567df8a_bighug.gif

With the comments of Linda Edwards ... is it possible Margie's disappearance is connected or is it more likely just a memory of a murder that occured back when...

Hopefully someone that remembers Margie posts ....

There were several sets of remains found back in the 80's in hot springs and as far as I know none have been identified ( I followed Jeffery Smiths case) and the Ar med examiner (Smeadley) at that point had said they might have been a part of the remains that were lost in a storage locker , so I dont have a lot of faith in these old Arkansas cases
If I remember correctly there were 3 sets lost.

There is a Margie snead on facebook. I looked for her "Margie A snead" by addresses and one came up in Virginia which I believe to be the lady above. Margie (lost lady) is 65..lady above looks that age to me. On ancestry there is no Margie a snead there is a mary a snead though whos mothers surname is Brown. The Facebook lady has Brown on her facebook profile which doesn't have a lot of people on it but I guess that's a common name in the US as well? All the Sneads appear to be younger except one other "older" female . To me they do look incredibly alike.

****warning: morgue photo
Anybody think Margie is Nipton Doe? Time frame is close; thick hair, pug like nose, height and the weight.
