MALACCA: A hawker worried about her son and unable to sleep had her worst fears confirmed when the police knocked on her door at 6.30am yesterday to tell her that her son was dead.

Koh Miow Ing, who runs the Ta Shan Yuen stall in Bukit Cina famous for its crab dishes, learnt that her son Tan Teck Pio, 34, had been found dead opposite a nearby Sikh temple.

Tan was found lying in a pool of blood with injuries to his head just two doors away from where they live.

Koh, who lives in a shop lot opposite her stall, said her son helped her at the stall on Saturday night.
