Chipley and his friend, James Bess, lived in a boys' group home in Ashland, Kentucky at the time they went missing. They ran away from the home on October 4, 1984 and haven't been seen since. Few details are available in their cases.

Chipley and one of his siblings were adopted by a Radcliff, Kentucky couple in 1980. Chipley went to live in the group home in 1983.

In 1975 two other boys dissapeared from a group home David Edward Williams – The Charley Project
and Steven Eugene Anderson – The Charley Project

These 2 boys were mentally challenged and it doesn't seems to be the case here, but the simularities troke me.

Would like to more about this group home. Did they really run away ifso why did they? any witness saw them after they left the home? why were they at the group home in the first place? did they have family?

Since the kids were 14 I woulddn't be surprised if they actually did run away and little effort was made to find them since they were almost 18 anyway. What happebedto them afterwards is anyoine guesss.

Newly following. This case was mentioned in another one.

If anyone has access to the above linked article (Herald Dispatch), please share anything interesting? I can't access the article.

I hope these boys' families will find answers.

The Herald-Dispatch article was worthless -- said Ashland Police have an open file on the two boys -- that's it.
