Human remains found near golf course in Perry Township

Perry Township Police and state investigators completed their recovery Monday of human remains first discovered by two women walking a dog Sunday morning near a golf course in Perry Township.

In addition to the skull and leg bone, the ribcage and some teeth that could help identify the remains were recovered on Monday.

Authorities will be checking to determine if the remains are those of 18-year-old Daniel Sanders, who disappeared 12 years ago and was never found.

Sanders resided a short distance from where the remains were found.

Sheriff: Human remains found near golf course in northern Franklin County

Human remains were found near a golf course on Sunday, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

Skeletal remains were found on Merwin Road near Brookside Golf and Country Club and just north of OSU Airport.

The police chief said the remains were found 12 years after an 18-year old man vanished from the same community and has never been seen again.

Police: Human remains found on golf course in north Columbus


Perry Township police have confirmed that human remains were found on the Brookside Golf & Country Club.

BCI has confirmed they are human remains but cannot identify them at this time due to decomposition.

100 yards from his back door????

I am wondering if he wasn't thought of as being "suicidal" so they never thought to look for the gun right away? I think I read it was reported missing months after the young man had left and been reported missing .. if I had suspected someone as being suicidal and they left, then I would have immediately checked to see if the gun was still there .. maybe they would have searched in the area better? 100 yards out the backdoor seems close to me ..
