Any boyfriend/ex-boyfriend /roomate? Anyone know her or the area? Thank you for posting this OP

its been pretty snowy, but her car has been seen without her.. is it possible it wasn't her car?

Is she a native of reno?

I hate it when LE says, about a missing 20 yr old, she is 'not endangered' .....ugh, how do they know that?

I am concerned about her car. It is exactly the kind of car that would be of interest to a gangster or carjacker.

Here is her active Facebook https://www.facebook.com/kirsten.yamaoka.1?ref=br_rs posts are private but her friends list isn't.

If you search for her on FB and then read the found posts tagging her and the comments there is some interesting stuff.

what does that even mean

She drives a black SUV with tinted windows, which could make her car a target and thus lead to danger. Just one of many possibilities. Hopefully this is not the case and she is missing voluntarily.

why would they think she would never want to up and leave when she has a tattoo from Forrest gump on her foot about getting out of somewhere to get someplace better?

"Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far - far away from here." -Jenny

Makes me also worried that she has battled with depression and the idea of wanting to leave this world. JMO

Very worried for her :(

I am not finding any sad update on any of the posted links?

Oh no: ( very sad. When I saw this thread was bumped, I was hoping she'd been found safe. :(

MSM link as well http://www.ktvn.com/story/34638416/reno-area-woman-goes-missing1

Very, very sad.

To the prior police comment about "not endangered" there's pretty specific reasons "missings" will get categorized as endangered (age: very old, very young; medical conditions: autism, Alzheimers, or requiring medication or medical care). I did not see anything to put her in this category. Also, not being endangered severely limits our ability for warrantless forensics.

Sadly, many missing (sometimes despondent) people, who are otherwise healthy adults, aren't investigated for this reason. Sometimes if evidence comes up to indicate they're at risk, they will get investigated. They are however very difficult to investigate. Sometimes we do investigate the "borderline" cases, and often people are evading their friends and family and need time to recover from whatever issue has driven them to leave, and sometimes people are with "friends" (/mistresses!)

One of the detectives I work with is very good at sifting through these and locating people. Many times they are suicides and even though we can't save their lives, we can at least get them back to their families.

When I saw the items left at home, and saw some of her instragram status, it looked to me like this case would probably be a suicide. (nothing has been reported on cause/manner of death, it is just my assumption based on circumstances)

Very sad outcome for her family.

Does it seem like they are implying it was a suicide?

Unless she had a vehicle accident, I would also have to guess it is a suicide - if they thought she was murdered the media would be all over it.
