Detectives are investigating the recent financial dealings of a suspect arrested over the murder of a Mayfair antiques dealer.

Robyn Mercer, 50, a silverware expert, was found face down in a pool of blood on her front lawn with injuries were so severe that police thought she had been shot.

The victim was found by a neighbour on their way to work. It is believed her body may have lain outside the house in Surrey for much of the night.

The boyfriend of an antiques dealer was being questioned over her murder last night.

Robert Webb, 52, is suspected of bludgeoning Robyn Mercer, 50, to death after she kicked him out of their £850,000 home.

The BT engineer, who was spending his second night in custody last night, was arrested within minutes of her body being found in a pool of blood.

Neighbours said the mother of two had split up with Webb but he had refused to leave their semi-detached house in West Molesey, Surrey.

Detectives investigating the murder of an antiques dealer who was bludgeoned to death outside her Surrey home have charged a man with falsifying a will.

Robyn Mercer, 50, was killed with either an axe or a machete in West Molesey on 14 March, and found dead at the end of her driveway in Walton Road.

Robert Webb, 53, of Walton Road, West Molesey, has been charged with fraud by false representation.

He is due to appear before Staines magistrates on 1 March.

The will of a murder victim was falsified by her boyfriend in an attempt inherit her £420,000 estate, a court has heard.

Robert Webb, 53, allegedly faked the will of antiques dealer Robyn Mercer after she was bludgeoned to death at her home in March last year.

Ms Mercer, 50, was found in the front garden of her home in West Molesey, Surrey and murder squad detectives say she was beaten to death with either an axe or machete.

Staines Magistrates Court heard that Webb is said to have falsified the mother-of-two's will on or before September 20.

Thank you for starting the thread Alyce, he has not yet been charged with anything more than falsifying her Will but those injuries which killed her just scream "hatred". I would bet he knows far more/is involved far more than he is saying.

“Webb appeared at Staines magistrates court this morning (1[SUP]st[/SUP] March2017) charged with one count of committing fraud by false representation.
He didn’t enter a plea to forging the will after her death.
Prosecutor Charlotte Chirico said: “On the 14th of March, 2016 Ms Robyn Mercer was found on the driveway of the home that she shared with the defendant.”
“They were separated at the time but living together.
“Land registry records showed that the title of the property was registered to both.”
Webb was released on bail to appear at Kingston crown court on March 28.
JP Rachel Wellbelove said: “We are sending this matter, for this moment in time, for a pre-trial preparation hearing and that will be at Kingston Crown Court.”
If found guilty he could face up to six years in prison.
Robyn had worked for silver specialists J.H. Bourdon-Smith for the last 25 years.
No-one has yet been charged in connection with her murder although four suspects are due to answer bail later this month.”

Horrific. Nothing more I can add at this point. :(

Just found this, from the investigation in October 2016

Police say divers have uncovered an item "crucial" to the ongoing Robyn Mercer murder investigation during a search of an Oxshott lake.

Under Surrey Police instruction, an expert dive team from Specialist Group International (SGI) started scouring Littleheath Common lake on Tuesday (October 18).

Detective Inspector Paddy Mayers said: “The items recovered are all potentially significant but clearly one of the recovered items may be crucial to the investigation.

A more informative article in the DM. Robyn had lived with Robert for 13 years inWalton Road West Molesey. The Daily Fail says the semi detached house is worth £850,000. I would be surprised if in Molesey that a semi would fetch that much but it is an expensive area. I have certainly seen the type in the photo (in my earlier post link) going for around £650,000. I was born about 6 miles from there and Hampton and Walton were old stamping grounds but I haven’t lived there for 40 years or so.

It seems they had a 35/65 per cent split in the house with Robyn owning the larger share.

12 sept 2016 Crimewatch appeal extract

followed by a breakthrough from that broadcast http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/robyn-mercer-murder-police-reveal-11879680

Speaking after the TV appeal, DCI Rymarz said: “We had some really interesting calls - we think we have the name of the dog walker who is seen on the CCTV and we are really keen to speak to anyone who might know who the two people are seen walking across the Walton Road. “Of course, the really key bit for us is around the weapon that was used in the case - anything more we could have would be really appreciated.”

Here is a map of the murder area with road distances and times to Oxshott. I have superimposed the Little Heath Common Lake notation (in orange) which is to the south west of Oxshott.

I'm speculating an ex-partner and offspring here. 45 year old woman (knowledge), 20 yr old daughter (knowledge), possibly a 26 yr old son and mate (involvement), or 26 yr old twin sons (involvement), plus a 24 yr old female friend (assisting). I have no idea if there was an ex-partner, or offspring.

On Sunday night Miss Mercer had cooked dinner there for her daughter and a friend, who both later went out.
Her body was found in her front garden the next morning.

When her daughter arrived home officers prevented her from going inside.

DCI Rymarz said that Ms Mercer had gone outside to put something in her bins at around 9pm on the Sunday after having a family meal.

How do the police know that Robyn went out to the bins at 9pm ?

We are told that daughter and friend went out after dinner. Surely this was before Robyn went to the bin ? otherwise they would have gone to see where she was, after a minute or two, when she didnt come back to the house.

I think they have probably used the stage of rigor mortis (and possibly body temperature) to approximate the time of death. Plus, possibly, excluding an earlier time, when other people were there and would have seen her.

As someone else said, another gorgeous, vibrant woman, in the prime of her life with a greedy, cowardly, entitled (ex) partner
