"A fitness trainer and mother of three was murdered in a Dallas-area church Monday morning by a man wearing SWAT gear, police said."

"Boot camp-style exercise class participants who showed up at the Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Tex., around 5 a.m. found their instructor Terri “Missy” Bevers, 45, dead, according to the Midlothian Police Department."

"Fitness trainer Terri (Missy) Bevers, 45, was killed early Monday just before her boot-camp style class, police said. Participants in the Camp Gladiator class found her dead when they arrived to a Midlothian, Tex., church for the workout."

"Police Chief Carl Smith said a man wearing what looked like a tactical helmet, gloves and a heavy vest with "POLICE" written on it could be seen in security camera footage from the E. U.S. Highway 287 church just before Bevers arrived. The department released the 4 a.m. footage Monday afternoon, though Smith said no cameras captured the attack."

CERTAIN BEHAVIORS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!

Dear Websleuths Members,

We are going to apply common sense to the Missy Bever's discussion.

You all have really done some amazing sleuthing in the Bever's case. Thank you for putting forth the effort to bring us interesting and helpful posts.

From now on if a member disrupts the thread in any way they will be timed out or banned.

Disrupting the thread could be anything from hitting the alert button over and over on posts that do not violate our TOS, to trying to disrupt members who are discussing a scenario that you disagree with, to arguing over something so minor that it makes me want to rip my eyeballs out of my head in frustration.

Here is an example: No more arguments over "shards of glass" VS "broken glass" LE referenced.

No outright accusations against specific individuals but very general broad speculation or theorizing will be allowed.

The last word from LE was a long time ago and was that none of the persons listed in the search warrants that have been released are suspects "at this time"

We all know that is doublespeak for we are not willing to name any of them POI or suspect RIGHT NOW.

So a general speculation of "I still find the husband's statements odd, his demeanor off. Something is not right there" are fine. While statements like "BB did it, I mean come on, his wife was sleeping around and it's almost always the husband or boyfriend" are over the line.

"I think this was motivated by jealousy by someone Missy knew, someone who felt threatened by her, someone with low self-esteem" would be okay while "it was that one woman [whatever her initials are] married to one teacher [insert initials]" would be over the line.

This should be easy to understand.

We want a lively and interesting discussion, however, we will not allow the Bever's discussion to get out of hand.

Thanks to tlcya and beach for their contributions to this post and for their continued hard work in moderating the Bever's thread.

Another video recently released online shows what police call a “vehicle of interest,” although investigators will not confirm if they have identified its driver or explained its unusual appearance near the church. It was recorded by a series of cameras posted around a gun store near the church about two hours before the murder. The Nissan Altima spends six minutes in the SWFA Outdoors parking lot, much of the time with its lights off. The church is on the opposite side of the divided highway, less than a half mile away.

READ THE OPENING POST AND THIS ONE AND THANK BOTH IF YOU INTEND TO POST. Pay particular attention to Tricia's warning about bickering and how to post in regards to your suspect(s). Outright accusations will not be tolerated.

Referring to people or groups of people by nicknames or alternate names needs to cease. you may use initials. Keep in mind that some of you are discussing a family that has lost a member to murder. It is one thing to find someone's demeanor off or point out percieved inconsistencies in their statements. It is quite another to bash them when they have been accused of nothing by Law Enforcement. I urge everyone to find that line and stay on the right side of it.

Honestly, to me it looks like the Altima (nobody get mad at me please..) interior video images from SWFA are "smudged." Look at the most recent photos where you can clearly see the details of some parts of the car, spokes, door handle, door lines etc. are nearly clear. When it comes to the back seat, or the front seat, it looks like someone smudged over the photo details of the inside of the car.. As if to smear out the person(s) in the car. It also might be why it took so long to release the videos of the SWFA Altima car. I feel like the license plate could have been smeared too.. I know it's dark and raining, but still, not one good zoomable shot of the license plate?

If the released photo and video were intentionally smudged, the only people that had access to the video would be SWFA owners and LE, right?

I'm not saying the photos were tampered with, it's just a wild thought.

I'm not sure if this post saved to the last thread.. sorry for the double post.

ALL JMO: I don't know how to quote from another thread...but, I don't hear much about it anymore. Not to say it's never discussed or people don't care. From my own experience, people aren't living in fear. I think it's one of those that people involved (not just family, but like friends, Leo etc) have been guided to keep quiet. I can't speak for anyone else so this is all JMO. Hoping something happens soon. So sad for her girls.

Excellent surmisal, Rodee! Food for thought!

My suspicion is if it was edited, it was done by LEO to send a message to the driver. JMO

The more I think about your theory, the more sense it makes. Why would SWFA release a full video, months later? Something does not jive, as I have thought for a while.

Also there has to be more to the MPD story: "We have more video, but it shows no additional info" --or something to that effect?

Too many inconsistencies with LE, Locals, etc. This story has to have more to it that can be proven, either by WS, Locals, Friends of Missy, etc.

jmo.....

Maybe that's LE's way to smoke SP out, while they are turning over every stone for evidence. You're right, there are scraps of information we can't talk about, and we get that.

OTOH, trying to find the murderer in the limited number of POI's we can discuss is nearly impossible. There's a REALLY good chance they aren't on that list at all. Or perhaps one is on the list, but the LE needs to prove there is an "accomplice" involved. Hopefully, something will break in this case. Those poor girls!

To respond to a post, look at the bottom of this section. There should be 3 tabs. One is "THANKS" 2nd is "REPLY" 3rd is "REPLY WITH QUOTE". Just hit the 3rd tab, and it should open a new box with the quote in it. That's it.

I don't see many living in fear here either. I know there are circles of friends that bring it up between themselves. It certainly wouldn't be brought up in a nail salon where you don't know who is listening. It's changed a few of my habits, but not many. But I think about it every single day, I pray about it and I can't drive by that church without thinking about MB, and how she might have been thinking about having lunch with her friends, or picking up a few groceries before heading home.

Is it possible not many people in the area live in fear, because they have a feeling they know who is responsible for the murder, and just don't think the killer will strike again?

And, is it possible Killer is living a relaxing life, thinking he/she got away with murder?

That's been my thoughts all along. I thought for sure MPD knew who it was and were just building a case. But, I've started to wonder recently considering the lack of anything. JMO

There was a post at the end of previous thread about the SWFA video being altered. WS member Nin did some nice work with Altima images. Iirc Nin was of the opinion that the video had not been " scrubbed". Perhaps if Nin is reading here he/ she can chime in.

I have watched the video a few times, and I did notice that at the beginning, when the car comes in the driveway, the video jumps a few frames.

Yes.

IMO, at the very least many frames (50-100+) have been removed from the video. The bad weather certainly played a huge role (especially at night like that), so it makes it hard to see with all of the super high contrast.

I meant to post this in the last thread, but in case anyone doesn't know you can advance the YT videos frame by frame using the '<' and '>' keys. I figure most people know that, but thought I'd share just in case.

Also, in Windows you can use the Windows key + the 'U' key to bring up the accessibility menu. On that menu there is a magnifier that is very helpful at making out details. I usually keep it around 200-400% and take screen shots from that.

Thanks.. I must have missed that. Nin and the other photo/video WS'ers would be able to see much more with their software and abilities.

When I looked at the last Altima photo, I just took notice that it looked smeared in certain places. When I looked at some of the other pics or video, it seems that at a critical point, the video jumps or in this last case.. altered. It was just my own personal observation. :shush:

I may not always be commenting, but I am closely following this case. If you have certain frames you like to talk about, I am more than happy to look at them.

I'll just say this, altering frames - not deleting them - would leave a trace IMO, since the target is moving. Any blurring for example would have to be done consistently in every single layer.

That blur or obscurity would have to be of a progression in itself considering size and opacity. We are talking about hundreds and thousands of layers. Lots of manpower needed.

Granted, the SWFA released the video almost 8 months later, but MPD would have confiscated it on day one or two. Given the experience of the SWFA security cam operator or employee or owner generally watching the surveillance tapes - any tapes-, I am sure, they would have noticed any discrepancies. It's like watching your favorite show and they replaced some of the actors with lookalikes..just saying.

All my opinion only. I am not a forensic photo - video - photoshop etc. specialist. Take it all with a large grain of salt.

RIP Missy Bevers - NOT forgotten!

Just wanted to clarify that I was just speaking to the smearing or scrubbing of the images. I agree that there are portions of the video missing. :)
