Interesting that she had a recognizable face 6 - 15 days after death, being outside in Florida in August
Sounds like decomp was well on its way. I’m sure between the heat, the wildlife and number of days it had to have been tough to tell much. Maybe thats why there’s no sketch? It is helpful that they could still determine skin tone, hair color and gender.

70 miles south of Naples on US 41 is the Shark Valley Visitor Center. In 2017, when we were on vacation, the entrance to this park was $25/vehicle. This isn’t that far from Homestead or Miami. I’m actually surprised they used Naples as their starting point.

I must be missing it or the NamUS page was updated because I don’t see anything about DNA. I do see the Doe Network as Dentals tho.

When I made this post years ago, DNA status was viewable in NamUs. They've since removed identifiers from their cases, due to privacy. You won't see it anymore, but at the time I wrote that, we had access to this information.

Gosh that seems like an odd interpretation of privacy since the person is unknown. Thanks for bringing me up to speed.

I am trying to find a follow up article to see if there is any additional information provided to the public.

Strange that there was a head on collision in the same area with a woman passenger missing and was reported as not found and search called off.
