As police were arresting Alexes Rosa Wednesday in connection with killing a 19-year-old on prom night, the victims girlfriend gave birth to their son.
Police arrested Rosa, 27, and charged him with manslaughter in the death of Derek DJ Benford.
Police said the 19-year-old victim was on his way home from a party after the prom, on June 4. Benford got involved in an argument between two groups of women near his home on Broad Street and Lincoln. That apparently angered Rosa, who police said punched Benford in the head.
Benfords head hit the pavement and he died two days later.
