UT - Salt Lake Co.,Remains of Kellie Josephson, in Deaf Smith Canyon, Mar'17

    http://fox13now.com/2017/03/21/bones...-50-years-old/
Bones found in Deaf Smith Canyon are from woman 30 to 50 years old
Investigators said they are not sure how long the remains have been there.
It's only a guess right now but investigators said they think the remains were there less than three years.
Officials told Fox 13 they have an idea on the identity of the woman and are working to confirm it before releasing more information.

However, as of Tuesday, Unified Police investigators still did not know who the woman was. It may require DNA testing — an option that could take several months to yield results — to finally unlock the mystery, UPD Lt. Brian Lohrke said.

Little more than a skull and other scattered bones, along with a scrap of camouflage-patterned cloth, were recovered by officers and forensics experts Sunday afternoon along Little Willow Creek in the canyon wedged between the larger Big and Little Cottonwood canyons.
The bones were about 90 feet below a cliff but located on the opposite side of the creek from the canyon wall, so authorities could not be sure if a fall was involved in the death.

Not much is know about who this person is or how they ended up in the desolate area a mile from the start of the trail. But what forensics teams with the Unified Police Department have been able to learn is that this person was small stature, a little taller than 5 feet, and had fillings in their teeth.
Meanwhile forensics teams will be diligently learning from the bones hoping to begin a storyline of this persons life. They'll be running tests and x-rays on the bones. Looking at the strength of the bones and for any cracks and signs of surgery or disease. All signs that can help paint a picture of who this person was, where they may have come from and how they would've ended up out in the area. They're looking at the teeth in particular.
"You can look at the type of filling that are in the teeth and the skull and see if they're from the modern age or to see if they're from technology they used back in the 60's or 70's," Lt. Lohrke said.

The teeth, he added, can even help identify an age and a possible gender on the person. As for any signs of foul play, Lohrke says it's too hard to tell.

Also Susan was 5'4 and this one is just barely over 5 feet.
Maybe one day we will find out where Susan is.

I doubt Susan would have been wearing Camo. I think that it likely rules out Elizabeth as well. I can't think of anyone missing in Utah that fits this description.

Janis Stavros went missing in 2001 not too far from where these remains were found, if I'm reading the map right.

    What do you all think?

Lark Montague went missing about 30 minutes from Deaf Smith Canyon according to my google map. (Magna, Utah to Deaf Smith Canyon)

She fits the physical description. Age is close.

The camo cloth isn't necessarily clothing. I was thinking a camo blanket or netting could have been used to cover this woman's remains.

Ruth is 5' tall. Disappeared in Sandy. Possibility? Probably not likely because she has very visible dental work.

Re: bolded, my thoughts as well, wrapped or covered with something made out of camoflage to conceal her remains, JMO.

Re: height, the article states "a little over five feet", which IMO wouldn't necessarily eliminate someone of 5'4" at this early stage of the investigation, as they apparently have yet to determine a precise height. jjmo
