HOUSTON -- A fire at a southwest Houston house killed a wheelchair-bound woman inside before it spread to a neighboring home Friday morning, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Firefighters were called to the 5900 block of Rutherglenn at Dunlap shortly after 6 a.m. and found flames and smoke billowing from a home.
"The roof started to collapse, which created a danger for the firefighters, as well," a Houston firefighter said.
Burglar bars also prevented rescuers from entering the house quickly. After they gained entry, firefighters found the woman's body inside.
