As an Air Force family member I am Bumping for Corey-

MILWAUKEE -- Police now say the case of a missing veteran is critical. His family hasn't seen or heard from him in nine days. The family has canvassed the area near tzzzheir home around 54th and Capitol. It's where 45-year-old Corey Adams was last seen on Monday, March 20th at approximately 11 a.m.

When Adams left the house, he left behind his glasses, wallet, keys and his phone. He also doesn't have his medicine.

The family says there have been some tips, including a couple placing him on Miller Park Way in recent days -- once at the IHOP, then at the McDonald's.

Glad there have been sightings. Hopefully he is okay.

Wisconsin expected to set up ‘Green Alerts’ for missing at-risk veterans

The idea was proposed by Gwen and Johnnie Adams, whose 45-year-old son, Corey Adams, went missing last March. Corey Adams, an Air Force veteran who had served in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War and later in Kuwait and Afghanistan, suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. But police could not help the family find him because he was an adult and didn’t meet certain criteria.

Wisconsin became the first state last year to institute a Green Alert system. The program came about following the death of combat veteran Corey Adams, who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after serving in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. The first eight days he'd been missing, police were unable to help his family because he didn't meet the appropriate criteria. Then, 18 days after he vanished, he was found dead.

Camo Alert program to locate missing veterans in Texas is failing to gain traction

Wisconsin enacted the Green Alert because of Air Force veteran Corey Adams, a Milwaukee native who was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder following a deployment to Afghanistan. He was found dead 18 days after his disappearance in 2017, and his sister Carmen Adams advocated for the law as a way to help find veterans in distress before they take their own lives.
