Lindsey Thomasson was taken into police custody Tuesday morning, charged with first degree murder in the death of Presley Kay Porting.

A criminal complaint states Thomasson killed Presley while committing or attempting to commit child abuse.

Presleys funeral was held on February 16, according to her obituary, which does not mention Thomasson.

The obituary recommended memorial contributions be made to Bikers Against Child Abuse, among other charities.

Thanks Indy for starting the thread! I thought about starting one yesterday, sometimes KC news doesn't follow thru with a story so it is hard to update. For example I remember when they were investigating little Presley death and then we hear nothing until yesterday when Thomasson is arrested.

I am sure curious as to what happened with Thomasson being an excellent babysitter as stated in the Heavy article to an abuser. Then to having a $2 million dollar bond, it must be something quite serious.

She was a cute little baby doll for sure.

Hi Sleuths,
Long time member, first time poster here. Well, second time technically, I just tried to post but the device I was using restarted so I don't know what happened to it. I think I may have included some information which, re-reading the forum rules, isn't allowed so I hope it didn't go through, but I can't find it anywhere to edit or delete it.

Back to the topic - I wondered the same thing regarding an affair but Presley and her sibling were a couple of months apart in age so it's possible that Presley's mother became pregnant toward the end of her relationship with the father and Thomasson became pregnant at the beginning of a new relationship.
Such a tragedy for the families, specially the other children.

According to Presley's maternal grandfather, she was hit in the head.
"PORTING: Yes, she -- the cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head."

Also, he goes into detail about Presley's mom's addiction to opiates, her seeking treatment, and the lack of relationship between Presley and her father prior to bio mom checking herself into rehab.

Pathologist in court says 2-year-old Gardner girl suffered savage beating

OLATHE, Kan. -- A Johnson County judge heard evidence Monday against a Gardner, Kan., woman charged with first degree murder in the death of a 2-year-old girl.

The accused, Lindsey Thomasson, had been engaged to marry the child's father.

That engagement ended after Pressley Porting, 2, was beaten to death in February.

Thomasson, 24, has remained behind bars on a $2-million bond for the last six months.

A pathologist testified Monday that the little girl suffered a savage beating, which caused bleeding to her brain and around her eyes.

A judge has found sufficient evidence for Lindsey Thomasson to be tried in the death of her fiance's 2-year-old daughter. A trial date could be set at her next court appearance in January. Thomasson is jailed on $2 million bond.

Mom of 2-year-old girl killed in alleged child abuse death sues Dad’s fiancée

The mother of a 2-year-old girl who died last year at her father’s house in Gardner has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

Presley Russom, who has also been identified in court documents as Presley Porting, died in February 2017.

Her father’s fiancée, Lindsey Thomasson, is charged in Johnson County District Court with felony first-degree murder in the child’s death. The charge alleges that the little girl died as a result of child abuse.

Thomasson is a defendant in the civil suit filed Tuesday on behalf of Presley’s mother, Stephanie Porting.

Woman found guilty of murdering fiancee's 2-year-old daughter in Gardner

Lindsey Thomasson pleaded no contest in Johnson County District Court to a charge of second-degree murder in the February 2017 death of Presley Porting, who is also identified in court documents as Presley Russom.

Thomasson, 25, also pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated kidnapping.
