This may not have anything to do with upcoming events in the Avery case, but PL was AG when the exoneration for the 1985 rape case came down. Apparently she has unexpectedly resigned:

Lautenschlager has served as chairwoman since the Ethics Commission was created last year.

Another commissioner, Robert Kinney, quit in December calling the commission ineffective, secretive and set up to fail.
Lautenschlager was attorney general between 2003 and 2007.

PL's office produced a report which concluded that there was no ethical or legal violations by LE involved in the false imprisonment of Steven Avery.

The following is the first in a series of articles from the blog Convoluted Brian which examines the details of the report:

PL was the subject of a petition demanding an investigation into collusion among state officials regarding Steven's and Brendan's prosecutions. Lots of potential areas of investigation mentioned in the articles of this petition regarding links among the principles involved in Steven's exoneration, the lawsuit against LE, and the subsequent investigation into the disappearance of Teresa Halbach:

I have not investigated all the leads suggested in this petition - it is a petition demanding an investigation.

All MOO - except the information in the links.

Wow, very interesting. Wonder if something is coming down the line soon? I could be way off base, now i'm going to have to read the links you provided, and thanks for posting them, :)

I just noticed this name and others in the case,Lautenschlager & even Halbach, they sound of German descent to me? Maybe where families of German heritage migrated to back in the day? Sorry for the OT.

Very interesting.
Some have speculated that this case would reach her office.

I took it as hearsay, but maybe there is some truth to it.

IIRC, she had been arrested on a drunk driving charge in the past?

Some areas tend to turn into ethnic enclaves during immigration.

For instance, where my Dad is from there were a lot of Polish immigrants, and the built a Catholic church for the community complete with frescoes and mosaics with inscriptions in Polish. It makes sense for people with the same cultural and language needs to flock together for mutual aid in a strange new land.

MOO

Lots of european immigrants here too, it's interesting.

From the Fox news article sounds like she resigned because of a conflict of interest with her son contemplating a run for Attorney General.

And another one bites the dust.:eek:hoh:

Some big changes seem to be happening, it would seem. And the timing of these changes are very interesting, too. I am hoping this means we have good news coming from KZ very soon. On a side note, I didn't realize that my favorite reporter had his own website til now, lol. :winko:

Edited: for wording corrections.

It seems we are not the only ones sensing something is coming soon...Now we have, not only resignations and early retirements, but it seems that Manitowoc has purchased a nice, new vehicle....:hills:

I am sorry but I cannot figure out what such a small community as Manitowoc would need with an extreme vehicle such as that. Just what exactly are they expecting, and is it meant more to protect the townspeople or LE itself? :bigfight:

Oh wow, looks & sounds ominous  It does look like militarizing the police to me. But who knows?

Thanks for all the updates!! Very interesting happenings and I agree about the timing!:tyou:

It seems as though yet another one has fallen in Manitowoc...Michael Griesbach has stepped down from working with the Wisconsin Innocence project as of December, apparently. It really is starting to seem like many are deserting a sinking ship. lol.:escape:
JMO, of course.
