Church bombings in Egypt kill at least 37, wound dozens, 9 April 2017

TANTA, Egypt -- Bombs tore through two Egyptian churches in different cities as worshippers were marking Palm Sunday, killing at least 37 people and wounding around 100 in an assault claimed by the Islamic State group.

In the first, attack, a bomb exploded at Saint George church in the Nile Delta city of Tanta, killing at least 26 people and wounding over 70, officials said.
Later, an explosion hit Saint Mark's Cathedral in the coastal city of Alexandria, the historic seat of Christendom in Egypt, killing at least 11 people and wounding 35 just after Pope Tawadros II finished services. His aides later told local media that he had escaped unharmed.
IS claimed the attacks via its Aamaq news agency, after having recently warned that it would step up attacks on Egypt's Christians.

Egypt's Coptic churches hit by deadly blasts on Palm Sunday

The blasts appear to have been timed for maximum impact, as people gathered to mark Palm Sunday, one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar, marking the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

Egyptian security forces had been put on alert in anticipation of attacks.
Pope Francis, who is due to visit Egypt later this month, has condemned the explosions.

The explosion in Tanta was next to the altar, an official said

Sadly, there is almost no mainstream media coverage of this carnage. And apparently little will even here among WS'ers to discuss it.

I think the media is pulling back coverage of islamic terrorism, so that "we the people" are just supposed to accept mass murders as something that "just happens" on a daily or weekly basis. You know-- no big deal, just a couple of bombs in church, sarin gassing of babies, disaffected islamic "refugees" going nuts and ramming trucks into crowds of innocent people, etc etc etc.

Just business as usual-- nothing to see here-- just move along, and whatever you do, don't mention the source of the terrorism, or the justification behind it. Because above all, we must keep up the facade of "we just don't know WHY they did it". It's a complete mystery. Right? We can't prevent it, and can never know why they did it, and it was just a "random" thing, so just ignore it and move along. Right?

Oh-- and religion had absolutely NOTHING to do with this. Right?

    All JMO

I totally agree and it is a very sad state of affairs in the world right now.

About a year ago we had discussions in one of the threads how political correctness is dangerous and can lead to real deaths. I believe we are seeing this in the world right now and here is how it happens.

When governments have an attitude of putting their head in the sand and ignoring the root causes of certain things then the terrorists begin to get empowered and cause more death and destruction. Things get much worse because things are ignored and allowed to fester until it becomes so bad that emergency room visits are in order.

Some in the news media tried to recognize this and they would say things like we must first recognize what we are dealing with and openly identify it so that it can be discussed and dealt with by the leaders of the world countries.

Unless the leaders of the countries can openly discuss and identify what they are dealing with then no solution can ever be really solved.

So much time has been waisted by many countries because they had chosen to pretend things arent what they really are. Like ignoring a wasp that is flying around your head instead of yelling to everyone to take cover and go get the fly swatter to kill the wasp.

Then what happens is one day it is a swarm of hornets that attack and kill the farmer on his tractor because that one wasp was ignored and allowed to multiply.

Its probably not the best analogy but the point is that the whole political correctness is very dangerous and leads to real death and destruction.

A simple solution for all world governments is to ask themselves a few questions.

Is killing and mass murder going to be accepted?
Are countries going to allow groups of like minded people to plot to cause death and destruction?
Is this a problem right now just for one country?

If the answer is no then ban together and take whatever steps necessary to identify the killers and try to stop them.

There has to be mutliple countries involved in the solution. It is a world wide issue that must be tackled by the world.

The reality is it may be difficult to prevent it permanently but there sure can be a reduction of what we have been seeing. There is not near enough countries banning together to solve a common problem that lots of countries have.

Reducing mass murders and reducing death and destruction should be a common goal of multiple countries and banning together is what is needed.
