This is back from March 17th, but it seems at that time, DiCarlo was saying that Paradkar was not going to be part of Baratov's legal team (at least that is the impression I got from this video below - thoughts?)

Ha...it took two or three very expensive criminal defence attorneys for him to have to stay shackled during his court appearances and to be denied bail. I hope he is extradited soon and we don't have to waste too many taxpayer dollars keeping him locked up. Are his assets going to be seized?

No surprise that the lawyers have decided to appeal. Why not with a bottomless pit of cash on hand?

FBI director Comey’s firing delayed extradition proceedings for accused Yahoo hacker: lawyer

The lawyer for an Ancaster, Ont. man accused of participating in a massive plot to hack Yahoo email accounts in 2014, says extradition proceedings for his client are taking longer because U.S. President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.

Amedeo DiCarlo said Friday that American officials and the RCMP have still not provided disclosure on the allegations against his client, Karim Baratov.

    [...]

Baratov was arrested on March 15 and denied bail a month later after the Crown argued he was a flight risk, could easily access several online bank accounts, along with fake IDs, and that his parents willfully turned a blind eye to his lavish lifestyle pior to his arrest.

An appeal of that decision will be heard on June 5. DiCarlo explained it is possible his client could surrender himself to U.S. authorities on his own if he is granted bail.

"When he is out he can make better decisions," DiCarlo said. "If we need to go to the U.S., I could transer him myself."

Karim Baratov, accused in massive Yahoo hack, appeals decision to deny him bail

TORONTO – Lawyers for a Canadian accused in a massive hack of Yahoo emails will be in an Ontario court Monday to fight a judge’s decision to deny the man bail.

Karim Baratov is appealing an April ruling by Ontario Superior Court Justice Alan Whitten, who found the 22-year-old was too much of a flight risk to be released on bail.

Baratov's lawyer goes to U.S. in bid to free accused hacker

The lawyer for accused Ancaster hacker Karim Baratov says he has gone to Washington to meet with the FBI and district attorney in an effort to expedite his client's day in court.

    [...]

"I hope I can skip the Canadian process and go straight to the U.S."

DiCarlo is trying again to get Baratov out of jail to await his extradition hearing.

    [...]

DiCarlo said the RCMP recently told him it could take another three months before he can have disclosure. He doesn't want to see Baratov waiting that long and is counting on the Appeal Court to release him.

"I'm hoping to get Mr. Baratov out … If we need to go the U.S. (to deal with the case), I'll transport him myself…," DiCarlo said. "He can't sit in jail any longer, waiting for the system. He wants to be out. He wants to be in the community, and he's just waiting."

Baratov has been asking for material to read and is "pretty much bored."

Aww....poor baby. Why not just skip the extradition hearing and surrender to the US then? Take your chances with the FBI on whether or not you're going to receive bail while awaiting trial.
