Amish Man Bilked of $60+ K in Sex Scam

    http://www.comcast.net/news/national...14/283734.html

What I found weird was that the Amish guy's deacon helped him out by *videotaping* one of the pay-offs.
An Amish deacon--with a video camera?

There were/are Amish where I used to live. A friend of mine worked at the local video store with the porno videos behind the counter. She begged me not to pick up the local Amish guys when they'd hitchhike because they came into town to rent some of the worst videos they had in the store!
Generators are allowed for many of the Amish sects, as are VCRs. Personally, I always wondered about the rationalization of the porno!

I lived amongst the Amish for 3 years in Pennslyvania Dutch country--yeah, they're a weird bunch, and they make very strange allowances re trchnology, such as having electric lights & cimputers in their stores, but not their homes. One of the odder sights was seeing a barefoot Amish girl in traitional dress, roughly 15 years old, with a gas-powered leaf blower strapped to her back, clearing off the family's yard.
And I know what you mean about the porn. From what I heard from a friend who worked a video store in the area, about 10 years ago before all of t moved online, there was a big demand for beast-porn from the Amish guys. Ick.
The other thing that stuck in my mind is that Lancaster, PA. has not one but two cleft-palate clinics. I lived in NYC for 3 years and never saw *one*.

There are evil people everywhere. In every religion and even under our family disguises. You need to recognize it and not enable it or you can be hurt. This is educational and truthful. These comments are so much more than people realize.

From what I have read it just seems like a way to keep their women submissive.
