I found an obituary for what looks like his mother here: http://www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net/home/obituary/4087904 .
I think this is the right one, because there's a Frank R Scopelleti listed on her naturalization papers. In the obit, there's a sister listed, and I can find articles about her in San Diego in 2015. Should I send her in as next of kin?

Yes, send it in! I found a person with that name through linkedin who lives in Carlsbad California. Let them know about that method of contact.

I can't see his ClaimUs page either. I hope he's been claimed.

Huh. For me, that link brings up a case list for Fulton County, GA. When I search for "Scopelletti" no results come up.

The first time I clicked the link, I got an unrelated case list. then i logged in on the left hand side of the webpage, came back and clicked the link again. and it comes up with Scopelletti's profile.

He's the right age.....
