A man who police were trying to identify in connection with the case of a missing teen from Alliance has been identified.

They posted the picture Thursday. He was identified Friday.

Weird that the picture of the man was taken from a surveillance photo nine months after the disappearance. I wonder if he walked in and asked for information on her or something. What would make him stand out in regard to her case nine months after she disappeared?

Details of Disappearance
Glenna disappeared from Alliance, Ohio on June 2, 2009. Authorities believe she left of her own accord and may still be in the local area. She may have a purple bicycle with her.

In December 2020, authorities released a video surveillance image of an unidentified man, taken at Salem Hospital in Salem, Ohio on March 3, 2010, and said they wanted to question him in Glenna's case, as they thought he might have information. Within a day the man had been identified, but his name has not been publicly released and it's unclear if he had any useful information in Glenna's disappearance.

Her case remains unsolved.

Strange about the man and Salem police, but Salem in Columbiana County and Alliance in Stark County Ohio aren't very far apart. Guess they're being tight-lipped about it.

Bobby Moore just arrested for her murder today 12.17.21... He was the person identified in the photo as well. Sad time for the White family.

Assistant Prosecutor Michael Yacovone said Moore was the last person to see White alive and he was facing a charge of raping her when he gave her a ride.

When relatives saw Moore about an hour after authorities last believe White was alive, he was covered in blood and mud and his knuckles were also bloodied, Yacovone said.

Yacovone said in 1993 Moore was convicted of manslaughter in Stark County for the death of Virginia Lecorchick, 22, of Alliance, who was beaten to death. Her body was recovered from Berlin Lake, Yacovone said.

Details of Disappearance
Glenna disappeared from Alliance, Ohio on June 2, 2009. She has never been heard from again and was classified as a runaway for years. She may have taken a purple bicycle with her.

In December 2021, Robert Lindsey Moore was charged with aggravated murder, murder and being a repeat violent offender in connection with Glenna's disappearance. He is the last person known to have seen her alive.

According to the prosecution's theory of the case, Glenna and her boyfriend ran away from home in 2009. They stayed with Moore at his home for a couple of nights, and he offered them alcohol.

At some point, according to witnesses, Glenna went to her boyfriend, wearing only a sheet, and said Moore had tried to rape her. Moore was infuriated at her accusation and told both Glenna and her boyfriend to leave his residence. He offered to give Glenna a ride back to her own house, and she got in the car with him.

About an hour and a half later, Moore returned home alone. Relatives who saw him at the time noted he was covered in mud and his knuckles were bloodstained. He had a prior history of violent offenses and had been charged with murder in the 1993 death of a Stark County, Ohio woman, but convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a jury trial and served fifteen years in prison.

Moore is awaiting trial in Glenna's case. Her body has not been recovered, but foul play is suspected in her disappearance due to the circumstances involved.

Authorities say they now know what happened to an Ohio girl who disappeared in 2009. A local man killed her, they claim. Investigators must still find the body. And the defendant they’ve arrested has previously been in and out of the criminal justice system for killing another woman decades ago.
Robert Lindsey Moore, 51, was arrested on Friday because he allegedly murdered Glenna Jean White, 17, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.

The teenager, nicknamed Gennie, went missing from Alliance, Ohio on June 2, 2009, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has said. They considered her an “endangered runaway.”

Things changed with the new development in the case.

White and her boyfriend had runaway from their respective homes in 2009, Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Midock told Law&Crime in a phone interview. In this account, they ended up at Moore’s house and stayed there one or two nights in June 2009, he said. He gave them alcohol, Midock said. At some point, White came running, saying that Moore tried to rape her, according to this version of events. She was only wearing a sheet, Midock said.

Moore was infuriated in this account. He kicked the young couple out of the residence, and White got in his vehicle for a ride back to her home, according to this version of events. Moore returned about an hour and a half later completely covered in blood, Midock said. He was covered in mud, and his knuckles were bloodied, Portage County deputies said.

Years later, Portage County investigators received a tip about the
missing girl, and the case was reopened in March 2020, according to officials.

Moore faces aggravated murder, murder, and repeat violent offender charges, they said.

Midock voiced hope that media coverage of the case would help investigators find White’s body.

Cold-case murder trial rescheduled

The cold-case aggravated murder trial of Robert L. Moore, 51, of Alliance is now scheduled for May 23 following a pretrial hearing Wednesday in which Moore waived his right to be tried within 90 days of his arrest.

Moore is charged with aggravated murder, murder and repeat violent offender specifications in the 2009 disappearance of Glenna J. White, 16, of Smith Township. Her body has never been found.
