So sad for this woman and anyone who knew and loved her at any point.... sounds like a freak accident.

I am working on a case right now (professionally, in my work, not here on WS) of a man hit and nearly killed by a semi. He was transient with no ID. He is in his late 60s and has no one who knows him or seems to care about him. Heartbreaking.

And it's LA, lots of people don't wear pants there. =)

Oh geez. I was just recently reading about a missing woman who matches this description a couple of days ago. Oh please let me remember where I saw it...

ETA: Found her: Brandi Duvall missing from North Carolina. But the tats don't line up.

    No facial picture?
Six-year-old Shannon Sherrill disappeared from her front yard in Thorntown, Indiana in October, 1986. Someone knows where she is......

especially since the NAMUS listing reads" recognizable face". Perhaps waiting to see if this is enough to make an ID. I'd think it is and perhaps out of respect, no need to post her face at this point?

I wonder if she suffered facial damage in the accident.

absolutely. First thought I had as well. But the Namus listing does clearly states that her face is recognizable. (of course, could still be a lot of trauma there and be recognizable.) I just hope it was quick and this woman did not suffer in pain for long.

The cross with the name and date looks like it could be a memorial cross.

No tattoo mentioned on the leg but it is worth a shot.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. The sun/moon tat on her back seemed pretty significant to me.

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/27717/4 Wanda Lemons has "lower back - dolphins making a heart, few other unknown tattoos". Jane Doe's is "Upper Back/Posterior Right Shoulder – Yin Yang made with Pink/Blue Dolphins". She's in range on demographics.

Naomi Sanders, missing from Hawaii in 2011, has a tribal band tattoo on her upper arm, no other tats listed but that's plenty of time to acquire the others. She's a bit smaller than decedent's listed stats.

She has hazel eyes versus the blue of the Namus UP 16521.
