“Our focus right now in the investigation is primarily to identify the young toddler,” Hunter said.
Investigators said the toddler’s age has been estimated to be 20 months-old.
“Someone out there is missing this little boy,” Hunter said.
    The Homicide Unit is investigating."

He is only 20 months old, and has not been reported missing yet? Hmmm...... very odd.

Makes me wonder if his Mom might be deceased as well.....

Or worse, she is covering it up....

Seems odd he hasn't been reported missing yet. At first I was inclined to think he wandered off. But with no missing report yet, it does seem suspicious. Yet who would dump a baby's body at the side of the road? So heartbreaking.

Sad and unfortunate;' Toddler's body found near Edmonton church

Homicide detectives are investigating and Alberta’s premier has issued a plea for help after a toddler’s body was found near a church in northeast Edmonton.

Police say a passerby made the tragic discovery on Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Good Shepherd Anglican Church, near 155 Avenue and Castledowns Road.
“Someone out there is missing this little boy and we need assistance, not only to identify him, but to find his family and the people around him that will help us put together the events that led to this,” said Staff Sgt. Duane Hunter, who called the incident “very sad and unfortunate.”
“Our focus right now in the investigation is primarily to identify the young toddler.”

There must be a reason that they are not showing a photo of him and why hasn't his mother reported him missing?

He was found near a church, so presumably someone is hoping that he will be given a Christian burial.
