Friends and family of a missing Gridley woman are worried sick. 20-year-old Alycia Yeoman has been missing for 72 hours. Yeoman was last seen Thursday evening. Her car is missing and her phone is going straight to voicemail.

The Yuba College student works two jobs in Gridley, one at Starbucks and one at McDonalds. Her friend and co-worker Christa Mills said the 20-year-old failed to show up for her early morning shift at McDonalds on Friday.

Missing NorCal College Student’s Cellphone, Truck Found Days After Her Mysterious Disappearance

April 5, 2017

The cellphone and truck belonging to a missing Yuba College student who vanished without a trace last week have been located and recovered by police, authorities in Northern California said.

[...]

Yeoman's pickup truck was found unoccupied about 5 p.m. Monday, in the area of Pennington Road in Live Oak, according to police.

[...]

That same day, a cellphone was also discovered by a citizen in the approximate area of the missing woman's truck. The individual tried to turn the phone on in an attempt to identify its owner, but the device only momentarily turned on before losing power, according to investigators.

Police have confirmed the cellphone belonged to Yeoman.

Reward Increased to $50K in Search for NorCal College Student Who Disappeared 3 Weeks Ago

April 23, 2017

After 23 days of searching, family on Sunday said they were upping the reward for information leading to the location of a 20-year-old Northern California woman who was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Yuba City.

Family members and the FBI are offering up a total of $50,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Alycia Yeoman, the missing woman’s family wrote on a Facebook page dedicated to their search effort.

[...]

Staff at a local Indian restaurant told KTXL Yeoman had dinner there on March 30 with a friend, described only as a 37-year-old man, around 6 p.m. Police confirmed they spoke with the man.

Yeoman and her friend went back to his home on Romero Street in Yuba City, and hung out with the man’s son and daughter, who is Yeoman’s age, investigators said. They were also joined by a young couple.

That is where Yeoman was last seen.

I think if she were in the river she would get hung up on something before going out to the bay but stranger things...

Especially in the Delta. I spent my childhood navigating the Delta Canals. My grandparents owned many acres of land spread across the Tracy Delta area. We boated, water skied, swam through there.

There are a lot of ways for things to get hung up there---sand bars, tule plants, big rocks, tree limbs, sudden twists and turns, etc----hard to believe a body could move all the way to the ocean without getting hung up somewhere. JMO

Without looking at how far the area is from its endpoint, I could see that being a likely scenario, yet in instances where the water is moving that fast, you never know.

If she was hung up in deep water, only a diver could see her and civilians may not even recognize a body after 3+ weeks in the water unless they got close.

It seems like the whole scenario is being over analyzed now (which I guess is not unexpected with no new information). Honestly, whatever happened was unplanned and seemingly happened in a very short window of time (per her uncle on the Find Alycia page - between 9:30 and 10:50 - but we know it was a 20 minute drive (prior discussions on Thread 1) so it likely was between 9:30 and 10:30- probably closer to 9:30 because whatever happened likely was very unplanned and there needed to be some time for a little panic at her last known location. Thinking it had to involve something illegal or during an unwanted advance or they likely would have called the police to report an accident. What would the easiest thing be to do with the body? Let's play out the River scenario . They would have had to take 2 cars (her truck + a car to get home). Idea was to dump truck in the river so they could claim she was really drunk when she left and ended up there accidentally - which to me means that the body had to be in the car. Plan was messed up by truck getting stuck so they would have had to then take her out of the car and walk to the river and - you know the rest. They would have then had to get OUT of there though - and there are no other car lights on the video - so they would have probably had to have walked down to the boat ramp and back up to the road a different way to catch their ride home. Found the cell phone back at the house early Sunday and drove past the orchard and tossed it out the window to get all 3 in same place. Issues with this scenario: Footprints "leading away from the truck" (per news) -- presumably toward the road because I'm thinking they would have said "toward the river". I suppose if there were workers who had walked up to the truck, they could have obscured footprints heading toward the water....

A second possibility on the river scenario is that the SECOND car had her body and maybe they took her to the river via another entrance to the river . The person who drove the truck was just supposed to dump the truck. Then the single set of footprints would be leading from her truck to the road for driver to pick up their ride back. I'm guessing that with either of these scenarios, a phone call from one person to the "pick up" person would be necessary so cell pings could be very useful.

<modsnip>

Throwing these ideas out there for conversation - but river does seem to be the most likely place at this point -- unless someone else who was at the house that night left with her and took her out to the mountains or another remote location.....

I know you proposed this as a theory. I just want to challenge 2 things. LE never said where the footprints. LE never said when the phone was found. I believe they haven’t released the information because: a) It was something that would cause the public to dismiss the case as an accident. b) It leads to foul play, and they are gathering evidence. I’ve been vocal in my theory that this was an accident, because first reports said no foul play… One of Aly’s friends said she was on the phone with LE for 30min, and asked her friends to not talk to the media because it could hurt the investigation. Now, the uncle is saying that the family is happy with the job that LE is doing. THIS leads me to believe there is a LOT going on behind the media. I believe she’ll be found in the river too… but not for months because of the flooding.

On that timeline, thank you.

However, Aly's TRUCK left no later than 10:40 pm. We don't know where Aly was, or what her state was.

I still think if someone else drove her truck out there with the sole purpose of dumping it they could've easily thrown a bike in the back as to ride off unseen.

from the Timeline:

Well, that is from her Uncle's FB page - and I believe someone here or others calculated that driving from the Romero Street address to the levee takes about 18 to 20 minutes - or maybe 15 minutes - I don't recall. I just took that "time" from her Uncle's FB. I can always delete that if necessary.

:dunno:

I have no doubt the truck's timeline is correct. My doubt comes from saying Aly was driving it. We don't know if she was, or wasn't.

Wonder if any other videos ever turned over, seems like every other house in CA has camera

No matter how hard I try, I keep coming back to 9:30 pm, when she stopped using her cell....I think that was the key moment that things went sideways...

Agreed. A 20 year old doesn't just stop using her cellphone - her lifeline - her connection to her inner and outer world. Just doesn't happen these days. Heck, I'm in my early 40s, pretty much a clueless Luddite when it comes to tech, and even I have become virtually dependent on my smart phone for the majority of my daily scheduling and communications. I mean, an abrupt stop of cellphone use BY ME would be highly suspect and unusual, so a 20 year old would be far more so.

One of the reasons is from watching my kids behavior. When they are 'forced' to hang out with us at a restaurant or at our house for Sunday dinner, they usually leave around 9 or so to go meet up with their friends somewhere. THEY TEXT IMMEDIATELY AS THEY ARE ABOUT TO LEAVE.

I can't believe she would be about to leave and go meet up with someone, without making contact with them as she left the house party. It is just very common practice with girls that age. If she didn't use her cell after 9:30, imo, it is because she wasn't free to do so.

Exactly. And when you are leaving one location to go to another, that is right when you are most likely to check your texts and send one to whom ever you are meeting.
