CT - Old Greenwich, UnkMale UP16584, 25-45, in Binney Park, Apr'17

A heavy police presence has closed Harding Road in Old Greenwich and police have reported the discovery of human remains. The road is closed at its intersection with Laddins Rock Road right near Binney Park.

At approximately 9:12 a.m on Tuesday., what appeared to be human remains were found in the park. Police said employees from the town’s Parks and Recreation Department were clearing debris in a wooded area of the park when the remains were found.

Some good pictures in that article. Looks like they're working fairly close to the road.

According to the Medical Examiner’s anthropologist, the death is not a recent event.

It wouldn't be likely that they would create one before they have the autopsy results back.

It will probably be hard to say who this person is. The park is very close to Rt 95, which runs from Maine to Florida. :-/

Remains are now in the possession of the state medical examiner’s office for further study.

Calls have already been coming into Greenwich police headquarters from people around the region, inquiring about missing relatives, including one from decades ago.

Three dozen members of the Greenwich Police Department on Monday conducted an extensive line search at Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park looking for any new clues.

"Since the remains initially found were only a partial set, we wanted to re-check the areas originally done and expand the search to a larger area," wrote Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry. "This additional search was not based on any new information; we just wanted to be as thorough as possible."

    The FBI is also assisting.

Investigators went to Binney Park on Thursday to search for more evidence in the discovery of human remains last April.

Members of a state police dive team and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials joined local police in the area of Binney Park, focusing on an area police could not check earlier because of PCB contamination. The DEEP crews provided protective gear and expertise so that police could search for evidence.

Only person I found missing from the area is Charles Thomas and he is 70 inches tall.
Not much info in his case, but looks like a good possibility: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/3294/

Human Remains Search Resumes In Greenwich's Binney Park

Members of the Greenwich Police Department and other law enforcement officials have returned to the park multiple times over the past several weeks to conduct the exhaustive ground and water search for more clues.

Additional human bones have been discovered at the site since the initial discovery on April 25, but Greenwich police say that they are consistent with only one person not more bodies.
