    George Soros

Records: Billionaire George Soros bankrolling Orange-Osceola State Attorney challenger

BILLIONAIRE SOROS DONATES $1.45M IN PHILLY PROSECUTOR RACE

    http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...05-05-14-22-36

In 2015, Soros began investing heavily in races for district attorney and sheriff across the country because of his interest in law enforcement issues, including abolishing the death penalty.
It's my opinion if no link provided.

I thought it was legal to bankroll elections now.

George Soros battles $10B lawsuit, familiar charges of wielding political influence

A $10 billion suit against George Soros accuses the self-styled humanitarian of meddling in the politics of a poor African country in order to settle his own scores, a charge the billionaire’s critics say reflects his longtime modus operandi.

The 86-year-old investor, who controls a web of international nonprofits in addition to his vast financial empire, used his sway with the government of Guinea to freeze Israeli company BSG Resources out of the West African nation’s lucrative iron ore mining contracts, according to the suit filed last month in New York Federal Court by BSG Resources.

"Soros was motivated solely by malice, as there was no economic interest he had in Guinea," BSGR alleges in court papers.

IMO this world would be a better place without Soros.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott removed a prosecutor from a high-profile murder case Thursday after she announced that her office will no longer seek the death penalty in any first-degree murder cases.

Scott said in a statement that Ayala's decision "made it clear that she will not fight for justice and that is why I am using my executive authority to immediately reassign the case to State Attorney Brad King."

Long before Russia hacked our elections, special interest money had been hacking, propping, and manipulating our democracy, regardless of party.

    Inside Philanthropy

George Soros has probably put more philanthropic resources toward promoting democratic ideals than anyone else on the planet. Soros has made significant contributions to health, education, and humanitarian efforts worldwide. "We try to understand who is vulnerable, who is marginalized, who is oppressed, society by society, place by place," says Chris Stone, president of Soros's Open Society Foundations. Much of his funding for various initiatives through the foundations is conducted through Open Society's offices, which support individuals and organizations whose missions coincide with the missions of his foundations.
During and after the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the mid-'90s, Soros contributed hundreds of millions of dollars to humanitarian relief efforts. His foundations also support a variety of other related causes, including women's, LGBTI, and disability rights, discrimination against Muslims in Europe, international justice, and national security and counterterrorism. In addition, Soros has made major donations to the International Crisis Group and UNICEF, giving each $5 million, and in early 2016 donated $4 million to the University of Connecticut's Human Rights Institute

Additionally, though Soros backed Barack Obama over Clinton in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, he quickly soured on the Democratic president, who he felt was insufficiently aggressive in pursuing liberal priorities. He expressed frustration with Obama during a private Democracy Alliance meeting in 2010, which some interpreted as a willingness to back a primary challenger in 2012. And though he backed Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, that year he told a close Clinton ally that he regretted supporting Obama over her, and praised Clinton for giving him an open door to discuss policy, according to emails released late last year by the State Department.

    Kind of interesting:

‘Refuse Fascism’ Group Behind Berkeley Riot Received $50k from George Soros

One of the far-left “anti-fascist” groups behind last week’s riot in Berkeley, Refuse Fascism, received $50,000 from a group*backed by socialist billionaire George Soros, according to the Daily Caller.
The Alliance for Global Justice, which is funded by the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation, reportedly donated $50,000 to fund Refuse Fascism, which openly brags about using violence to shut down conservative and libertarian speech.

“We are committed to use all legal means at our disposal to stop pseudo-civil society spy groups such as the ones funded by George Soros,” Hungary’s top education official, Minister of Human Capacities Zoltan Balog said recently.

“To Soros, Steinmetz’s success, as well as his active, passionate promotion of Israeli life, business and culture are anathema,” BSGR said in the complaint. “Soros is also well known for his long-standing animus toward the state of Israel.”
