The killer allegedly wrote “a message of retribution” on the wall.

Oh my god.

UPDATE: Victims Identified from Death Investigation in the area of 141 Dorchester Avenue is South Boston

May 06, 2017
At about 8:38 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 141 Dorchester Avenue in South Boston. On arrival, the officers made entry to the building and observed a male suspect armed with a firearm. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect immediately began firing at the officers, causing them to return fire. During the exchange, the suspect was struck by the officers and after a violent struggle, placed in custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries as a result of gunshot wounds. No police officers were struck by gunfire but several were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A subsequent protective sweep of the location by members of the BPD SWAT Team led to the discovery of two victims suffering from traumatic injuries who were pronounced deceased on scene. The victims have since been identified as Richard Field, 49, of Boston and Lina Bolanos, 38, of Boston.
Multiple charges will be finalized and sought against the suspect in South Boston District Court. This incident will continue to be investigated by the BPD Homicide Unit, Fire Arms Discharge Investigation Team and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. The investigation remains active and updated information will be provided when possible.

Suspect in Southie penthouse murders just out of jail
Sunday, May 07, 2017

The 30-year-old Chelsea man believed to have killed two beloved Hub doctors in the luxury South Boston penthouse where they were planning their wedding was recently released from prison, where he served nine months behind bars for a pair of Boston bank robberies, officials say.
[…]
Although Evans said detectives are still looking into how Teixeira gained access to the building — which residents say is well-secured — a law enforcement official said a preliminary investigation indicates Teixeira, Bolanos and Fields knew each other. Field and Bolanos were later found by a SWAT team. [...]

How was he able to overcome two adults, one of them a man who looks like he could handle himself, and then bind their hands?

JUST THINKING OUT LOUD: Anesthesia/ pain management physicians seem to be frequently mentioned when 'physician turned to the dark side' stories surface regarding prescription drug abuse and distribution. But this seems especially brutal and personal. HOW would these two physicians have know a convicted bank robber? The way building security is described- someone had to let the killer in. Hopefully, he talks.

From your link Davania:

. "On Friday night, in an act of desperation and fear, Dr. Field sent a text message to a friend, pleading for help."

From Gardenista's link:

"........photos of the two doctors in the apartment had been cut up...."

I'm so interested to find out what the connection was between the perp & the two doctors. How odd.

Very unfortunate. Yet another reminder that evil is out there.

Robbed two banks and only got 9 months in prison?

Right, but he either disabled one or both of them before tying them up, or they acquiesced willingly to being bound. It's not easy to hold a gun on someone while tying their hands. Speculating here, of course.

And then we read that the male victim sent a text to a friend for help. Some mysteries here.

Yes, lots! People don't get murdered for "retribution" for no reason, so I wonder which one of them was mixed up in something. I'm going with pain management doctor. JMO.

Yeah, I'm wondering how he was able to do so (send the text) w/o the perp being aware. Scary stuff.
