TACOMA, Wash. - A construction crew unearthed skeletal remains in an empty lot here earlier this week.

The remains were found in the 1700 block of South Visscher Street around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Loretta Cool with the Tacoma Police Department says.

It's not clear if the remains are male or female and it is unknown how long they have been there.

The street where these remains were found appears to be a small, residential street that dead ends into a wooded area that extends to the Community College. This seems like a place that only locals familiar with the area would be aware of and a risky place to dump a body, being a dead end with several houses to get past. I wonder if this area has had homeless encampments? In January of last year a man found dead closer to Tacoma Community College was identified as a local homeless man in his 50's.

I couldn't find any updates for this case though.
