Michelle Aranda’s decomposed bod was found inside her apartment. Police found the fourth-floor apartment, at 1740 NW N. River Dr., following the “foul smell.”

Detectives list the death as “unclassified” until the medical examiner figures out the cause of death, but police noted Aranda’s car, a black MINI Cooper with the tag EAC Z50, is missing.

Aranda’s Facebook profile lists her as a Waste Management employee and graduate of the University of North Texas. Her last public post, on May 4, was a group picture of a bowling game with her co-workers.

This shouldn't be hard to find unless they've switched tags. Florida is mostly toll roads. Only problem is, I have 2 black mini coopers in our underground garage right now, so this must be a popular car in the Miami area. Not so much where I'm originally from, I'd never seen one tht I remember (outside of ads,tv, etc) until I moved here.

Ok, her last public post was on Thursday, May 4, at approx 8:30 a.m. When was her body found? The article in the Miami Herald is dated May 13, and said she was found on Thursday, which would have been May 11. Where was she between May 4 and May 11? One whole week. Did she report for work during that time? We sure are short on information, other than her missing car.

Oh, this is interesting. I didn't know there were mostly toll roads there! I assume this means there are cameras at each booth or whatever?

The Florida turnpike, of course, is a toll road, and there are toll roads near Orlando. But I-95 is not a toll road. In my experience.

Was she not reported missing by anybody? I mean.....they found her by a smell from her decomposing remains?? In her apartment?? No one noticed this beautiful girl went radio silent all of a sudden? For a week or more?

This is so sad...

That's what I've been thinking about. Certainly she was missed at work, no?

I'm very sorry to ask this, but could she have died more recently, and the heat in Florida caused her body to decompose faster? :(

I was wondering the same thing. It seems so odd, it looks like she's very active in her community (organizing charity events, etc).

Neighbors said they hadn't seen her in about two weeks.

Aranda worked for Waste Management as an environmental solution specialist. The University of North Texas graduate moved from Dallas to Miami about three years ago, according to her LinkedIn account.
The 28-year-old woman had an adventurous spirit. Records show that she got a pilot's license last year. She was a student at the Flying Academy at the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport.

Yes, Wish I Knew, I agree. You would think someone would have noticed Michelle was missing before a whole week had passed. Especially her work and co-workers. When did she work last? Maybe with her car gone, the neighbors thought she was away. One of the articles says her apartment was on the 4th floor of the building. Hopefully we will hear more about her phone records, texts, boyfriend/relationships, banking transactions, camera footage, etc. Beautiful girl!! Bless her poor momma and family, facing this horrible tragedy at Mother's Day ;(

In this article, "How Long Does It Rake for a Body to Decompose?"
"The exact time differs...massive decomposition can begin in 8 to 10 days....A terrible smell can begin in 6 days in temperate conditions....it can be reached much faster in the tropics."

On May 4 the high in Miami was 88, then it dropped down between 82 and 84 for a few days, and then the high was 88 again from May 9 through May 13. Her body was found on May 11. www.timeanddate.com
"Past Weather in Miami, Fla, USA"

I would think that, if the air conditioning was running in her fourth floor apartment, it may take a little longer. If not, then perhaps quicker.
So sad.

This is heartbreaking! Michelle sounds like she had a bright future ahead of her.
