A teenage girl was killed and her body discovered in the back of a car following a road accident which may have been staged to cover evidence of the crime.

Police launched a murder inquiry after the body of 16-year-old Megan Bannister was found in the back of the car at the scene of the accident in Leicestershire, on Sunday.

A post-mortem established that Megan had been killed before the accident, which police believe may have been deliberately staged.

A friend of the teenager revealed that Megan had told her parents she was going to a friend for a sleepover, but instead arranged to meet an older man.

They have arrested two men in relation to the body

Police have until later this evening to decide whether to charge or release two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of Megan Bannister.

The 16-year-old's body was found in a crashed car in Desford Road, Enderby, at 11.45am on Sunday.

Two men, aged 27 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of her murder, and police initially held them in custody for 36 hours for questioning.

They subsequently applied to magistrates to hold the pair for a further 36 hours and that period runs out this evening.

Two men have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a teenager whose body was found in the back of a car following a crash.

Jason Burder, 28, and 27-year-old Adam King are due before magistrates in Leicester on Thursday.

Officers said Burder and King, from Leicester, had been charged with gross negligence manslaughter over the death of 16-year-old Megan Bannister.

So no real idea what has happened here, nor why it's been downgraded to Manslaughter. Hopefully we'll find out more in the next few days

It sounds like the disgusting pair have given her an accidental drug overdosed probably so they could do god knows what to her.
Sounds like there stories check out or they would of been charged with murder.

I did wonder why nothing had been said about Megan's whereabouts prior to the accident. She hadn't been, as far as I have seen, reported missing, meaning she was most likely with those guys, something happened and they were perhaps planning to hide her body somewhere. Failing that, that they planned the crash maybe hoping people would think she had died in it? But I agree with you leep, that it looks like she was taking drugs and overdosed.

RIP Megan
I hope her family can get some sort of peace knowing they've been jailed.

I have a beautiful innocent 7 year old daughter and stories like this absolutely terrify me to my core.
Why do girls have to grow up so fast.
Worried Dad 2017.

Because today's society makes them think they should and many parents are too busy or too soft to set and keep boundaries ... Mum who's raised 3 girls

P.s my best advice, never be afraid to say No.
