2016.06.15 - WaPo has new leak on the GOP

Specifically the HOuse majority Leader Paul Ryan telling his colleagues that he thought Putin paid Trump.

    The article is here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...mepage%2Fstory

with the transcript of the actual conversation here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/apps/...209/?tid=a_inl

I don't know what to think about this. It's possible that Paul Ryan really was joking around...

Probably joking around, but he's not the kind of guy who can pull it off.

Kinda what I'm thinking, but oh wow... really tragic timing.

    Also, if joking:

Seriously, dude? How bout next time you cover yourself in salmon and wait for a grizzly?

Timing. This is NOT the time for that joke. Mostly because the media will go ape poopy over it. And who needs that BS?

I think that, actually, Rep. Kevin McCarthy made the original assertion.

Ryan, ever odious, added, regarding secrecy: "This is how we know we're a real family here. What's said in the family stays in the family."

    Good God.

Both McCarthy and Ryan denied the conversation originally then pivoted when they found the Post had a tape.

That's what this administration seems to be. One bad joke.

The really damning part is that this conversation took place before wikileaks. In effect, Ryan et al are saying that Putin is paying Trump before the Russian scandal even started. How did they know to make that joke??

The more I think about it, the more I think those on the tape are calling it a joke hoping it'll all go away.

I also wonder if pressure on Paul Ryan about this new allegation will fuel his change of heart on the entire scandal.

Trump started talking about Putin very early in the campaign. He used Putin to distance himself from the image of Obama as a poor leader and a wuss. I know many on the left didn't get it and spun it into Trump's great admiration of Putin. Trump may have even said that he admired Putin for being a good leader. I don't know that but wouldn't be surprised.

Many on the right saw Obama as an apologist and very weak. Trump ran on making the country strong again. In the course of the campaign, it wouldn't surprise me if his competitors said this. Obama said many things about Hillary too in the course of their campaign.
All posts are my opinion only unless otherwise stated.
    Thanks!!

And thus far, Trump has been a skidmark on the office of POTUS as well as our national security. #FAIL
