An Amber alert was issued for a 1-year-old boy in San Francisco on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:39 p.m.
The boy, Makai Bangoura, was last seen on May 12 in a 2000 Toyota Corolla with a California license plate is 5SEY238.

The child was taken by the suspect. The suspect may be suicidal and should not be approached without law enforcement coordination.

Police said the suspect is 30-year-old Jason Lam.

The suspect, 30-year-old suspect Jason Lam, an Asian male, has taken his son, a two-year-old black male, approximately three feet tall and 40 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Lam is reportedly driving a tan 2000 Toyota Corolla with California license plate number 5SWY238.

Just saw two Amber Alerts on my TV and one on my phone. On the second alert on the TV they said that the abduction took place on May 12th (wasn't sure what to use in the title?) and that the suspect may be suicidal If that's the case, why is the alert just going out today?!

Jason Lam is little Makai's father. Lam is 5'3" and 145 lbs with black hair / brown eyes. Makai is approximately 3' and 40 lbs with brown hair / brown eyes.

In the comments of this CHP site, someone states that the reason for the one week delay is because the father failed to return little Makai after his week's visitation.

It's like Ara Jr. all over again. ugh

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — An Amber Alert issued Friday out of San Francisco for a 21-month-old boy who was believed to have been abducted by his father was called off after the boy and his father were located in Los Angeles Friday evening, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
