AL - Jefferson Co., Partial Remains near Cahaba River, May'17 - Tavis Domingue

Partial human remains found by hikers near the Cahaba River

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after hikers discovered human remains along a creek bank near the Cahaba River Saturday afternoon.

According to Deputy Randy Christian, the hikers were in the wooded area behind the Cahaba Forest Cove neighborhood in southern Jefferson County when they found the remains. They exited the woods and called the Sheriff’s Office.

Christian says the remains are so badly decomposed that is was not possible to determine race or gender at the scene.

    more info:

The remains belong to an adult white male between 5'10" and 6'1". The man was wearing a purple long sleeve button up shirt, dark gray dress pants, black leather belt, a gray hooded zip-up sweatshirt with orange "I FEAR NO EVIL, RANGER UP" written on the back. He was also wearing black dress socks, black size 9 lace up dress shoes, green boxer shorts and a silver "Kershaw" folding pocket knife was found in the pants pocket.

There is an image of a "I Fear No Evil, Ranger Up" Sweatshirt with orange letters at this link posted in January of 2011: http://fighttrends.com/tag/ranger-up/

That may give a clue as to the year if it matches the one found.

Andrew Roe was last seen at a Shell Station on Hwy 280: http://wiat.com/2016/04/18/police-as...alabaster-man/

Picture in news shows him wearing a grey sweatshirt. Namus has a picture of him wearing a button-up dress shirt. His height is within the range.
