From last month:

http://rapidcityjournal.com/news/lo...cle_58620e50-fcb7-5d44-bd28-6b0320885377.html

When Lisa Lonehill saw her 21-year-old daughter, Larissa, in the afternoon of Oct. 2, she had a terrible feeling it might be the last time...

Detectives believe Larissa is dead and buried within a 100-mile radius of Rapid City, said Capt. James Johns, head of the department's Criminal Investigations Division...

Her family’s knowledge of Larissa’s whereabouts ended on the morning of Oct. 3, when she texted a cousin to say she was with two male friends from Pine Ridge... One of the men who reportedly picked up Larissa said he dropped her off at a party, Piper said in an interview Thursday. The other man, she said, denied being with Larissa that day.

[FONT=&amp]“They found her at her boyfriend’s house, so they took her,” Larissa's mom, 55, said in a phone interview Thursday. Larissa’s boyfriend thought one of the men was her cousin since Larissa introduced him as such, even though they were not related, Lisa said.

[FONT=&amp]One of Larissa’s brothers reported her missing to the Rapid City police a few days later, said Lisa, after Larissa’s boyfriend told the family she could not be found.

and

[FONT=&amp]It was the first time authorities publicized Larissa’s disappearance, which Johns said police began investigating in November. He emphasized it remains a missing person case, and not a homicide investigation.

I would think investigating it like a homicide would increase their chances of finding her body and those responsible for dumping it, considering they think she is dead. I believe the above statement is an effort to throw off (very stupid) perps from thinking LE is onto them.

heartbreaking to read the posts from her mom on that facebook page, I wish she could get some answers. No news on this? No updates? No media?

She kicked her sister out of the townhouse, Piper said, after a brother told her Larissa had been smoking meth in the bathroom.

The young woman did not work because she lost her identification card, and Larissa's mother said she sometimes wondered where her daughter got her spending money.

Neither of these things bode too well for Larissa still being alive, IMO.

When the reward was first offered in the 21-year-old Rapid City woman’s disappearance it was for information leading to the identification and conviction of anyone responsible. Now, the reward is offered to anyone who can provide information that leads police to Lonehill’s body.

Details of Disappearance

Lone Hill was last seen on October 3, 2016. She texted her cousin to say she was going with two male friends from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to Rapid City, South Dakota. One of the men reportedly dropped her off at a party. She has never been heard from again.

Prior to her disappearance, Lone Hill lived in Manderson on the Pine Ridge reservation. She would occasionally stay with her sister, Carol Piper, at her home in Rapid City, but the two women got into an argument and Piper asked her to leave the house.

Piper stated Lone Hill had been using drugs, and she asked her to leave after one of their siblings told her he'd seen Lone Hill smoking methamphetamine in the bathroom. Their mother also believes she was involved with drugs. The last time Piper spoke to Lone Hill, a few days after their argument, she advised her to get substance abuse treatment.

Lone Hill is the sixth of eight children and attended school on the reservation, but didn't graduate high school. She wasn't working because she had lost her identification card, and her family isn't sure where she was getting money. Her two-year-old daughter lived with her father's family, but Lone Hill's family described her as a devoted mother who regularly visited her daughter even if she had to hitchhike or walk to get there.

Authorities believe Lone Hill is dead and that her body was disposed of somewhere within a hundred-mile radius of Rapid City. They have not identified any suspects or released much information about the case; they haven't even stated it's a homicide case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
