A manhunt is underway for two prisoners after one of them shot and killed two corrections officers who were transporting them on a bus in central Georgia on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Prison inmates Donnie Russell Rowe and Ricky Dubose overpowered and disarmed the officers before one of the prisoners shot and killed both guards around 5:45 a.m. on State Route 16 between Eatonton and Sparta, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dubose was sentenced up to 20 years in prison after convictions for armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft in 2014, the website shows. He also was convicted of theft and identity fraud in cases from August 2010."

Stay inside and lock your doors
Calling the Honda "grass green"
Bus has a cage in the back, the secured gate was breached somehow
Two convicts have nothing to lose, one serving 20 years and the other LWOP

JMO, just what I'm hearing. Please let this end with no further loss of life.

JMO but how stupid do they have to be to think this is going to end well for them?
That's the thing though. They have to know it wasn't going to. They may be sentenced to long prison terms, may have been in for a while or be beginning a lengthy stint, and looking for any chance for freedom they could get for the foreseeable future.

My best friend's brother is in prison. He recently into trouble for having a cell phone, which means no visits or phone calls for a year, however since he doesn't any sort of time off for food behavior, it doesn't matter to him if he goes into to the hole or loses privileges. Perhaps it was the same sort of thing.

Does anyone know why they're in prison?

"They were killed on the bus. I have their blood on my shoes," Sills said, fighting back tears.

Hoping both perps will go out in a hail of bullets before they can harm another innocent ... or at least fast tracked for the death penalty !!
Disgusting monsters.

Rest in peace, Officers Monica and Billue . Thank you for your service. :(

Oh my goodness! When I read Eatonton, Putnam County, Sheriff Sills, my mind immediately goes to the horrific murder of Shirley and Russell Dermond. She was murdered and weighted down, tossed in the lake behind their house while he was beheaded. This murder is still unsolved by Sheriff Sills.

Being snarky, can Sheriff Sills and his guys find these two?

Not good. So, robbery is their MO, and they will need money, etc. I'm hoping they dont hurt anyone in a home invasion or robbery, which I suspect will be their next move(s). They will also need transportation...

Eta: they will have to ditch the green car...

Man, I do not have a good feeling about this AT ALL...I'm scared it might get worse before it gets better...

(Foxfire, help!)

You can bet there is a SEEERIOUS MANHUNT going on right now.

"Putnam County’s seat of government, Eatonton, is about 65 miles southeast of Atlanta."

*they could be anywhere right now.

So, trying to get inside these guys heads, they would want to get the heck out of Georgia first thing.

My guess is they've maybe ditched the green car and stolen another vehicle and gotten the heck out of dodge. Which way did they go?

Sorry for the multiple posts, I feel sick:

Fugitives in guard shootings 'dangerous beyond description'

""We are still desperately looking for these two individuals. They are armed with 9 mm pistols that were taken from these correctional officers. They are dangerous beyond description. If anyone sees them or comes into contact, they need to call 911 immediately," the sheriff said.

The FBI said the fugitives were last seen getting into a "grass green," four-door 2004 Honda Civic with the Georgia license plate number RBJ-6601, and driving west on state Highway 16 toward Eatonton, southeast of Atlanta."

Snip

U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said federal resources are being committed to help catch the fugitives.

""An attack on any American law enforcement officer is an attack on every American law enforcement officer and the principles we all believe in," Rosenstein told a Senate budget panel in Washington Tuesday morning."
