Kevin Woolf, 32, of Mount Bethel, who also has a Jackson Township residence, was reported missing Wednesday.

Woolf was last seen at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, riding his 1997 purple-and-white Suzuki 350 dirt bike in the area of 822 Boulder Drive, Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, police said. He was riding back to his residence in the 2500 block of Mountain Road, Jackson Township, and is known to ride off-road trails between there and Upper Mount Bethel Township.

Woolf was last seen wearing tan brown painter’s pants, a bright green contractor shirt, brown work boots, a yellow/green helmet and a yellow backpack.

A search began Wednesday evening in the area of Poplar Valley Road and Route 191, lower Stroud Township, where Woolf possibly was last seen. The search was canceled later that night and expected to resume Thursday morning, with a command post being set up at the basketball camp in the search area.

I hope they find him soon. I lived in Bangor for 10 years, and parts of the area he is lost in get fairly rugged. The Appalachian Trail runs through there and it is not far from the Delaware River. Although 191 is a numbered route, it is pretty steep in spots with hairpin turns.

There are plenty of creeks in that area that would help him avoid dehydration. The weather has not been too extreme, although they are calling for more rain. There is also the possibility he could run into hikers on the Appalachian trail and they would have equipment to help him until they can either hike out or help arrives. There is a shelter on that section of the trail, but only one.

Another thing about the area is cell phone service is extremely spotty due to the mountain and terrain. If Kevin's dirt bike became disabled, he might have tried to hike to a higher spot to get cell phone service. Battery life on a cell phone can become drastically shortened in a situation like this, especially if certain apps that note location are on.

Aritcle that was updated last night at 9:27 PM. Still searching for Kevin.

But they found a campsite and cigarettes that matched his, and the odds of that being from someone else are slim (under the circumstances). I wonder where THAT campsite location was. Is he going deeper into the woods or working his way out? It's a pretty populated area, you'd think he'd end up on a road pretty quickly.

It would appear that his bike was found west of Rt. 191 near the Appalachian Trail close to where the power line crosses. Hopefully if he stays on the AT he will be found soon.

It is fairly populated but the terrain is also pretty rough in spots. It is an area I hated to go through in winter because it could be foggy, snowing or icy at the top of the mountain when it was none of those things in either Stroudsburg or Bangor.

It looks like Kevin has been riding those trails for many years, so you would think he would be somewhat familiar with where he is. The initial reports in MSM said he was wearing a helmet and carrying a backpack. If he had a wreck or some sort of accident, there is a possibility he could be injured.

I have not seen any updates about searches today.

Wow! Very interesting quote from the search leader.

I'm continuously confused at the posting style of post #15 (which says post #0). I don't know where I'm supposed to be focusing. Is there new information or is the post just a repeat of the same info as before?

According to a former employer of Kevin's, the bike was found between Delaware Water Gap and a radio tower near the Appalachian trail. It was on its kickstand and the helmet was with it.

There is also a map on the page of possible routes he might have taken.
They have a pic of an orange bike, but in the OP it says a purple/white bike. Maybe he walked away to go look at something and got chased or lost. Maybe he has no idea anyone is looking for him.

It sounds like Kevin may be going through a rough time personally and the search leader is saying that if Kevin wanted to just walk away from his life, that would have been fine, but he should have told his loved ones he needed to walk away.
