A popular fitness blogger and Instagram model in France died after a pressurized canister used for dispensing whipped cream exploded, hitting her in the chest.

Interview with French consumer watchdog:

It was a freak accident, her family says. But one French consumer watchdog group says Burger's injury and death comes as no surprise. The group has been sounding the alarm about defective whipped cream cannisters for years.

Benjamin Douriez, deputy editor of 60 Millions de Consummateurs, spoke with As It Happens host Carol Off about why he has been raising red flags whipped cream containers. Here is part of their conversation.

Sounds like Rebecca was using the canister for it's intended purpose but, either way, I guess it can be dangerous. :(
 
Actually the linked article refers only to canisters used for food dispensing and never once mentions or alludes to the use of whippets, Even the device pictured appears to be of the cream dispensing variety as opposed to a "cracker" as they are commonly called. The root of the problem lies with the high pressure cartridge. I don't know if they still are but when i was a kid they were also used to power pellet guns, and everybody knew you'd rather get shot with a BB than a pellet.

Poor woman. Gorgeous, worked so hard to get her fabulous body, and this?

Not in any way connecting her to whippet, but wanted to say here the kids dispense it into a balloon then huff it.

This is just da#n sad, and shows us life is fleeting.
