Thanks for your and Blue's comments about how legalizing this would cut down on abuse. I guess I had never really thought of it that way. And you're right about it being ok to film and sell. So yeah I'd be on board with legalizing prostitution as well.

No no and more no. Women are not objects.

Women who are prostitutes get brutalized with things such as bottles.

Of course, there are men who are prostitutes as well.

Let those jerk offs use rubber dolls. What is the difference. The woman is not a human being.

Even at that ranch where Odom went, it sounds like the women used to drugs.

Think of having to service some creepy guy.

    People are not objects!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see any comments regarding this, only the vote. Is there another thread?

I've at times wondered about this myself. Would it curb human slavery, help stop transferring sexual diseases, things like that. Interesting subject.

*I voted unsure, need more info*

This says what I believe so I believe it. The citations seem legit.

    https://www.equalitynow.org/sites/de...d_Girls_EN.pdf

I learned a lot about prostitution when a child I knew was kidnapped.

Former prosituties tried to get something going in Mpls to help, but it did not work out real good so they switiched to educating people what it meant to participate in the industry by going to strip clubs or buying porn or whatever related.

I heard former prostitutes speak as well as a former strip club operator. It seared my soul forever.

If this is a job you would like your children to be a part of, then OK.

But if it is not OK with you for your kids, then why is it ok for other kids?

Those things will likely happen regardless... Women get brutalised whether they are prostitutes or not. They don't call it "the oldest profession" for no reason... it's going to happen so we may as well try to regulate and oversee it and try to protect those who work in that field. Prostitutes already have to service disgusting gross people, so I don't see how legalizing or not will impact that aspect. Shrug. There are gross, rude customers in every service industry area. I mean, yeah I'm glad I never had to touch many of my past clients or customers, but I also wasn't a prostitute. I'm not saying it's a glamorous or awesome or desirable job, but it is a job and I'm sure they'd like things like PTO, insurance, and the ability to seek help when needed without worrying about being arrested.

I don't think it's a good job for any kids. It's not a kid job. It's an adult job.

We are the watchers. We are witnesses. We see what has gone before. We see what happens now, at this dangerous moment in human history. We see what's going to happen - what will surely happen - unless we come together: we - the Peoples of all Nations - to restore peace and harmony and balance to the Earth, our Mother.

Ha ha. You know I am talking about if parents would want this as a job choice such as being a lawyer, doctor, teacher, prostitute.

For those that like it as a job choice, then ok. But for those that do not see it as a job choice for their children, then I see that as a big problem,

Decriminalize it for the prostitutes. And do something about the guys that go to them. I don't know if women use them or not. Just know about gigolos.

It contributes to rape culture because this says that prostitutes are just a hunk of meat.

That means any woman is a hunk of meat. You know that Madonna whore thing.
I can't speak to the man part but I imagine a lot of male prostitutes started out as children.

The oldest profession is a man's idea. Ha ha.

I worked on an ordinance a few years ago to regulate where porn businesses could be in our community. You cannot keep them out cuz of First Amendment but you can regulate where they go in your community.

I was the only woman on a board of 9. The guffaws and jokes about the whole issue with the men on the board were astounding. They were all married, some with daughters.

I wonder how they would feel if some guy talked and laughed like they did about their wives or daughters.

It doesn't matter cuz prostitutes are not human.

If prostitutes are killed by serial killers, many of us breathe a sigh of relief. We are safe. Our daughters are safe.

From famous outlaws to inspiration for Gone With The Wind, these are the notorious prostitutes and madams who ruled the men of the wild west.

Prostitutes - or 'soiled doves' and 'sportin' women' as they were commonly known - were a fixture in western towns and cities. Almost without exception, pioneer mining camps, boomtowns and whistles-stops became home to at least one or two hookers - if not a roaring red light district.

And these fascinating images taken in the 19th century show some of the most famous scarlet women of the time - who would go on to become millionaires, national heroes and outlaws.

Ooohhhh lol. Gotcha. Yeah when I'd have my preschool students make their little "what I want to be when I grow up" projects, I got plenty of odd answers but that (thankfully) wasn't ever one of them... Pokemon, super heroes, KFC cook, mommy, Gas Station attendant sure, and to be honest sometimes I was worried I was going to hear "stripper," based on some mom's jobs and the children's behavior with the fire pole, but never did.

I believe that Trump's grandfather owned a brothel and that is how he got rich.

My best friend's grandma was a prostitute in Alaska. She was quite well to do and led a life of being a society woman in our city cuz she was well to do. Only her family knew the true story of how she got her wealth.

Her children were not close to her. Basically, they had little to do with her.

My best friend inherited stock. Her brother who visited grandma quite a bit, inherited a set of classical books.

We had quite a laugh over that. Not the brother though.
