The Eureka Police Department have begun an investigation into an “at risk” missing mother and child. The mother, 37-year-old Eureka resident Natalie Rashelle Wright, and her 19-month-old daughter, Mackenzie Chevelle Grant, were last seen on Monday night, June 26 around 1800 hours. Natalie Wright had been in contact with friends and family on a consistent basis prior to her disappearance. Natalie Wright had received death threats that were under investigation prior to her disappearance.

So in MARCH, this woman was arrested for accessory to murder and child endangerment, according to the Del Norte police press release seen at this site:

Another news site said there was a child in the car at the time of the arrest that was taken into custody. This happened March 20th. But it's June, and she has her baby back and presumably avoided further jail time?

So did she flip on the person who did the murder and plea out, and manage to get the baby back? And if she did, is that who is targeting her, the person/people she flipped on? JMO on what happened -- who else would want to threaten her?

Sounds like she is in hiding to me. HOPEFULLY that is what she is doing, and her and the baby are safe.

My goodness this is complicated! Here's my attempt to make sense of it.

In March Natalie Wright arrives at the home of Sunni Grant in Klamath with three men and her child around 6:00 a.m. Michael Grant, who lives at the home is the father of Natalie Wright's child. Is he married to Sunni Grant or is he her brother? ETA: her cousin according to her obituary. While talking to Wright outside he stabs one of the men who is with her, George Johnson from IL. Johnson allegedly shoots into the house, hitting Sunni Grant in the chest fatally. Natalie Wright flees with the three men and her child and is arrested.

Wright and two of the men were released in mid-June. Grant (father of Wright's child and a relative of shooting victim Sunni Grant) was not arrested for stabbing Johnson (no reason given), but Grant was arrested later in June for attempted murder and domestic violence in Eureka. That attempt occurred a few days after Wright and the two men were released from jail.

I'm going to guess that this was intended to be a drug deal in March and that Wright brought these men (all three from out of state) to the Grant home. I suspect that the attempted murder in June by Grant has something to do with the killing of Sunni Grant. Based on Wright's fears that someone is trying to kill her (death threats LE is aware of), I expect that she was the intended victim. Since she was communicating regularly with family and friends until her disappearance, even though she feared for her life, I expect that her silence is bad news or else she decided to lie low. I don't believe Michael Grant is out of jail (bail was $500,000) though. So perhaps someone else is trying to kill her in connection with the Sunni Grant case. I hope she's safe and I hope she lives through this and turns her life around.

ETA: Michael Grant was booked June 21 for being a felon in possession of a gun and June 23 for attempted murder and domestic violence. Natalie was last seen June 26.

I have to say, at this point I just want to see the baby recovered safely. Beyond that, I sadly don't have a horse in this race against time.

I hope so too. It's heartbreaking when children are collateral damage in these situations. Knowing Humboldt county, it's easy to disappear...or disappear someone. If this turns out to be attempted revenge for Sunni's killing, I don't think the baby would be hurt, since she's Michael Grant's child. I would hope that MG wasn't attempting to hurt his baby...unless his goal was to hurt the baby to hurt the Mom (Mark Redwine comes to mind). However, if her disappearance is related either to Michael Grant's arrest or turning on someone outside the family, like the three men involved, all bets are off. If she's hiding, she needs to contact LE and stay hidden.

I would like to know how Natalie knew these three men from out of state and why she would take her baby along on this early morning "errand" over an hour away from Eureka. Was some coercion involved? Her attorney didn't mention that at the bail hearing, so I doubt it. But why? The main cause for mothers endangering their children in Humboldt is meth. If that was the cause, I doubt a meth purchase was the reason for the early morning visit. People come from out of state to buy Humboldt Home Grown (marijuana). They also come to steal it. I'm inclined to think that she was facilitating the latter, knowingly or unknowingly. JMO and I hope I'm wrong.

Exactly. The baby is all that really matters here. All the adults made stupid decisions. The baby had no choice. JMO
