According to Wikipedia, it has been shown in 50 countries at various times since 1963. The original version was syndicated in the US from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Dr. Who has a quite a large fan-base over here in the States. It plays on the BBC America Channel on our cable TV.

Found the shirt. It's sold at a couple of places online, at least.

The shirt looks like it's in great condition, which makes me wonder if he bought it at The Great Philadelphia Comic Con, which happened April 7th thru the 9th of this year, which was just a few weeks before he died.

I know for a fact that Entertainment Earth sets up shop at numerous comic/entertainment type conventions. (San Diego Comic Con, for example.) It might be worthwhile for LE to contact Entertainment Earth and see if there are credit card records for purchases of that shirt, if they were present at the Great Philadelphia Comic Con this year.

Edit to add: I sent in this tip.

One of the photos shows a fair amount of blood on the fabric that the UID is photographed on. I wonder if he was wrapped in it at the time of death and had bled from an injury.

    Ryan Kumle NamUs states:

Two tattoos one on each arm, one is of two pistons and the other reads"never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly - grandma Lynne"

so no, it is not him.
